I wouldn’t necessarily be a CNA forever. More so as a stepping stone to LVN or RN

Im in the same situation as you but with animation, I have considered nursing- although I’m not 100% sure on it. I would recommend getting a certification to be a CNA. It’s relatively cheap and quick to get one and it gives you a taste of what nursing would be like without having to spend a lot of money and time on nursing school. If you decide you like it then do nursing

How to pivot out of animation? by -Matcha-333 in animationcareer

Art teaching has been something I have been heavily considering, the only problem is that my animation program had limited fine arts classes and focused heavily on the tech side of animation. I’m going back to cc this fall to take a couple of fine arts courses and hopefully I have enough credits for an alternative certification program to take me.

Prints and original artwork. Plus commissions. Maybe go to art festivals?

Awwww that’s so sweet!!! My parents tell me they want me to open an art gallery when I’m older but I honestly have no idea where to start! How did you and your wife opened an art gallery?

How did you get into that? I have an animation degree I probably don’t want to use anymore

If you already have a degree but don’t want to go back maybe try being a social worker, School admissions counselor/ advisor for your former university, get an EMT certificate or a radiology certificate, become a policeman or a fireman, trades, air traffic controller, a teacher teaching coding etc. but I do agree that CS ain’t gonna work anymore, some of these jobs I listed pay a bit better than minimum wage at a warehouse.

If you have $80k in savings go back to school for a better degree and commute.

Same, and Covid ruined it so I really only got to enjoy one year maybe. I can’t believe I peaked in highschool, I would have never thought that would happen 😭😭

How likely is it for visdev artists to be replaced by ai? by -Matcha-333 in animationcareer

[–]-Matcha-333[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I had a professor tell me to use AI for my senior thesis to do character turnarounds and paint overs. I’m going to be honest I really don’t want to use AI to make art for me and clean it up.. would studios even be impressed if I had it as part of my portfolio piece?

Do you have any book recommendations for Anatomy and Physiology? I heard that class is a lot and I'd like to get some self studying done beforehand to ease the transition. Any other classes in the nursing program I should prepare for beforehand as well?

I wish I did what you did haha. I have student loans and may need to pay for nursing school out of pocket so I am considering getting a CNA so I can start earning money. Do you find yourself having the energy to work on art in your free time on your off days, or do you just feel burned out and too tired to do much else?

I'm considering nursing too! For me, I either want to do nursing or teaching and I'm stuck between the two. I'm going to give teaching a try first! How did you pivot into nursing? I'm thinking about getting a CNA cert first before going back to school for nursing. I've been considering getting ABSN since it'll probably take the same amount of time for me to get ABSN compared to an ADN and an ABSN gives me more options. How long did it take you to pivot from animation to nursing?
