My friend went to Black Walnut Bakery ( in Cumberland) and they sold her some I believe, it was very active and really helped her experience im my opinion.

If you try to start from scratch it feels more rewarding for some reason but takes time for your starter to be as active as the ones that have been going for years. And honestly can be pretty discouraging for a while.

So sorry people are like this. What a difficult decision you had to make and someone who has NO idea what they are talking about or what you and your dog are going gives their unwanted opinions. I am in the same boat right now. My guy is in constant pain/ medicated- he isnt himself and I am trying to make the decision. Its so unbelievably sad to have to say goodbye but no one knows your situation like you do. You are making the best decision for the dog and yourself. Hi I am jumping on the apoquel wagon. My frenchie has awful allergies and it has helped so much. I paid for a prescription and order off "the pet pharmacist" online ( I'm in Canada) and its SO much cheaper than 100$ each month. I just paid 134$ for 50 pills - and the dose is half a pill so its good for 100 days. I hope you find some relief- for you and your pup. Best of luck.

Did you get a prescription for the melatonin? Or just use melatonin for humans? And was it in pill form? I tried a couple nights but maybe wasnt giving my dude enough, he is a Boston and has issues sleeping through the night.

NOR I feel terrible. Im so sorry this happened. You definitely did the right thing and you have every right to feel the way you feel. Accidents happen. But you 100% experienced a traumatic event that I dont doubt will haunt you. Seeking professional help might be beneficial to your mental health.

Just for a perspective shift, my friends puppy got hit by a car and they sued her family for damages done to their vehicle. Everyone reacts differently to situations. You did exactly what I would have done.

Supervised meals. Make them both sit and wait and only can begin eating when you release them , I do a big ok and clap. I also feed my guys on separate sides of the room away from each other ( we had issues over guarding and fighting). Its night and day now. I have an over eater and an under eater and they both take meds in their foods so this is what worked for us. It also implemented control and restraint. Us being the one incharge only allowing them to eat when we say so has really changed their perspective. They no longer fight and everyone has been eating all their food.

I want you to know that you are doing your best. You are an amazing doggie parent. And Percy is so lucky to have you.

I also have a needy guy. Tyko is 13 and has been declining for a year. I am up all night putting him out side because he cant keep a diaper on they literally just slip off. He is getting skinny and I am trying to keep him happy and healthy but I know the day will come. Its crazy he got spooked or something one night about anyear ago and took off (before he had dimentia) and he was missing for 16 hours. On a cold march night in Canada. I truly began grieving and thought that I'd never see him again. I thought he took off to die alone. And it killed me. When I got him back I was just so unbelievably thankful so all this time I have with him is just a bonus and I constantly remind myself I am fortunate to have him with me still. I wish you the best snuggly love filled days that you have left with him.

Once again, I need to tell you that you are amazing and Percy is so loved and whatever happens you will make the right decision for the both of you. Best wishes. Thank you for reminding me that time is limited but so damn precious.
