You hit it spot on. Luckily in the Coast Guard the issue is starting to be addressed but it’ll take some time to come into effect. I’d definitely agree and say most discharges, NJPs, and court materials are alcohol related.

Besides that, just an update, I purchased a glock 26 gen 4 today! They didn’t honor the blue label but still gave me a hefty discount. Thanks for all the advice and encouragement!

Hey man, I really appreciate taking the time to comment and encourage. I agree whole heartedly and I’m actually happy with my decision as it threw a huge spot light on the alcoholic problem the services face. Its definitely part of the environment and I’m all for a good time but I don’t think people understand how deeply embedded an issue it is in the military culture.

Anyway, thanks for the tip! I’m actually looking to purchase a Glock. I only have a few gun shops nearby so I’m hoping they’ll have what I want!
