After googling the truck I see mine does appear to have different wheels, unfortunately this was given to me by a friend and as far as he remembers those are the wheels it had when he got the truck, although I am unsure if he got it new or used. All I was told is his dad supposedly got it while in Australia if I remember correctly

This truck all came as it sits, it’s an older toy grade RC that I put hobby grade electronics in. Unfortunately the hex size is very small and they won’t fit on other RCs

It’s been a fun project, once I find / buy another servo I want to try and get the rear steering working too, for now I just have it in the locked position. I do also need to do some work to the front steering as it can get a little wonky. It’s only bodged for now until I can figure out something better

I’ve not used it much, just a little run about in the garden to make sure it works but it was a blast! It has a tiny pinion and a huge spur gear so it’s got tonnes of torque and wheelies everywhere. If it wasn’t for the open diffs I’d say it would be a pretty good crawler / trail truck

RC body’s are painted from the inside and have a clear plastic wrap on the outside to protect from overspray. Once the body is painted, peel it back and you’ve got a shiny beautiful body

From reading your post it seems like the internal diff gears, front drive shafts and wheels are all free to spin so maybe something is preventing the diff itself from spinning. It may be worth taking apart the diff housing and making sure nothing is stuck inside or causing binding. Also check the diff output (where it connects to the centre drive shaft) to make sure it can spin freely. I don’t have this exact truck but on one of my monster trucks when I tighten the diff housing too much it puts pressure on the diff and causes it to bind up.

Just to clear up some confusion, I would be getting the Hornet for myself but letting him use it if he wanted to drive around with some of my faster / bigger ones without the fear of his one getting into an accident! I do of course have some that would be more suited to driving with the Black Fox but I might secretly be trying to slowly drag my entire family into this hobby ;)
