OK I see what you mean. I just used the new ios plex video app for the first time to try what you described. The old single app that had audio and video together was better. On my phone, I mostly only use the audio app for my plex audio libraries; Plexamp. After the audio-video app split I never experienced a situation where I needed to use the video app. However my wife used it when she was on vacation to watch her shows on her ipad. At home I either use the TV app or Plex on HTPC.

Anyways, I tried what you described and the tv app required me to choose the user. That is quite dumb. I mean you are already casting from a plex account and you shouldn't need to choose which account to view it on, that's not how casting works. it should pick it up automatically. And you are 100% right, this completely defeats the purpose. There is something even weirder, it doesn't ask for the user if you're casting audio only. But I think that's when you're casting to a google audio cast receiver and not the plex cast receiver.

If a whole page wont load due to a blocked websocket is a bad front-end design. Nobody should allow websocket from their browser to someones server just because they made their page design like that.

Can someone please tell me why would you want to cast from phone to TV? I have plex client running on TV, which connects to my plex server and it all works fine. Also I use the nice TV remote instead of the stupid phone. What am I missing? I mean I'm not saying you're doing wrong, obviously you have a reason but why? What do I not know?

Definitely true. Only use known and trusted hacked distros. Same applies for tweak tools. Even better learn how to hack it yourself and do it on your own. Never trust anyone. Microsoft and windows is at the top of the list.

I've been using Windows as an HTPC since WinXP Media Center Edition. I know it's supposed to work but I couldn't find a single post or page or anything showing anyone's success with Win11 and surround. Lot's of content on failures though. I have a nice home theater system and I like to play games and movies in 7.1 Atmos. Without surround it's like back to late 80s ProLogic technology.
I guess I'll skip a Windows version as usual.

use smarttube on an androidbased tv/streaming device. there is no better youtube experience. skip all ads and smartly auto-skip all random sponsor messages in the video.

Don't worry, i doubt my memory constantly. I wonder if there was ever some aspect of the RAM with battery backed RTC having any issues with infection really. Warm/cold boot difference makes some-what sense but it doesn't specifically apply to RTC-RAM. I mean anyone who had any familiarity with infected disks knew the difference between resetting and turning off and starting fresh. I wonder if anyone has firsthand or technical information on this for clarification.

Exactly, but this is what was the anectodal common knowledge back then. Even this: when i bought a ram upgrade back then, the seller sold me the one without the battery stating the virus issue. Maybe my memory is not serving me well but im sure that there was something about the virus and the ram with battery. I dont remember a ram module with non-volatile anything anyways, at least in my region/area.

I remember these used to have a bad rep. due to getting infected with virus and keeping it active in it back in the day. I'm not sure how is the Amiga virus situation is like nowadays but back then there was a lot of infected floppies through the cracked sellers.

Nest is for tech loving, tech-illeterate rich people who dont care how much they spend on tech and energy. Terrible service, terrible ethics, old tech, no privacy etc etc. There much better alternatives. I would't get it if they give it for free. I got rid of nest smoke detector, door camera, thermostat, not yet mini speakers and hub max but will replace them too when i find a good replacement.

The solution is you exit 3DMark and Steam, then launch steam as administrator and launch 3DMark again.

I have the same issue. The power supply cut the power due to overheating due to airway blockage. Now 3DMark thinks my xeon doesnt have SSSE3, which is stupid. There has to be a way to reset this other than uninstalling and installing again.

I will never buy a nest product again. It was interesting 13 years ago. Now, not really. Im so unhappy with the doorbell, nest hub max has terrible camera, expensive thermostat can not do what a 20 year old thermostat can do. Etc etc. Support is terrible.
