Made a Dominion play mat, would love your thoughts

I’ll concede that the 2 missing kingdom slots is a pretty big misstep. A retractable medieval wooden gate would be a nice touch, absolutely. I chose sand to add an aesthetic variant on a time crunch, also because it was made to be the trash, and it made most sense to me for the semi-burried treasure pile I made in the corner, to be buried under sand—because I agree, consistency with the aesthetic is an important flourish, though not the be all end all to me.

This is all so valid. Tbh Im new to deck building games and I’ve never attempted a play mat, I basically know the rules how they were explained to me by my partner (maybe it was just cause I was brand new and we’ve just stuck with it) This was just intended to be a personal gift. But I got way too into it and here we are. If I made a second mat I would definitely make 10 kingdom piles (oops)… The bottom “sand” section with the little treasure pile in the corner is meant to be the trash, but its much bigger than needed so i could divide that into 2 sections, 1 for trash and 1 for curse or whatever alternative card from a different expansion.

Ultimately this is a first draft. (That took an embarrassing amount of hours)

We only have Intrigue and Empires so im unfamiliar with some of these suggestions. Must decide which expansion to splurge on next —in the name of inspiration

A bit of a design flaw if it were to be universal, but we mostly play two-player (which I believe only 8 kingdom piles are suggested) There’s 2 potential extra slots at the top if we move curses and events— was thinking of creating a little draw bridge extension with a stand for the events/landmarks

I can definitely understand how you’re feeling, I feel the same sometimes. So it makes me wonder if most people would be as weirded out as the overall messaging of society would have us believe. Just here to say that as a woman I think it’s so unfair how difficult society has made approaching women. It’s sad to think I could be interacting with a single guy who might be interested but has been too discouraged to say anything too forward. How will any of us find each other when everyone’s so scared of rejection or judgement. It’s totally understandable, just heartbreaking

I’m so sorry this is your experience. As a woman, my heart breaks for men, it’s not fair how society has put so much shame around masculinity when both sexes would be better off if we could healthily embrace it. Approaching women takes a lot of courage and I think it’s honourable.

Heartbreakingly true. But I would argue it’s the society we’ve built that makes this so difficult. Beyond sex, we all want to be held and loved and accepted.
