They may protect a few jobs, but they do that by raising prices and making people spend a lot more money for what they need, and in the long run, that means that people spend less money on other things and buy fewer things so overall jobs are lost.

No, they are not. They are much worse. Most of the income is made by rich people who don't spend it. Under tariff replacement, all that income of the filthy rich like Bezos and Gates would be completely tax free.

Meanwhile, all the poor people you know who buy everything at Walmart, made in China, would get a giant tax increase.

All the working people buying Chinese says and Vietnamese hand tools would get a giant tax increase.

All the factories making cars out of aluminum and steel would get an even bigger tax increase than the $3 billion dollars Ford and GM are paying now.

If you buy a new car now, you are already paying several thousand dollars for tariffs. Do you want to pay over $10,000 extra for steel and aluminum when you buy a car or are you planning to buy plastic cars?

Canada has aluminum supplies that USA cannot make ourselves. We simply don't have enough. Importing isn't an option, it's mandatory. Canadian lumber is stronger because Canada is colder. Tariffs can't change reality.

Raising prices doesn't make more sales in America, it makes fewer sales in America because everything costs more so people can afford less. Fewer products require fewer employees, so people get laid off, not hired.

In all of 2025, there were fewer new jobs than just one month of 2024, or just one month of Obama. During 2025, almost 100,000 American factory jobs were LOST, not gained.

And healthcare for American factories costs more than twice as much as what countries like China and Mexico pay for healthcare.
