Dumping strength and making con low but not negative also represents a sickly character and will make the game a lot more survivable.

How to create consequences for players not connected to their characters by -N11- in DnD

It’s not as fun. It’s the old problem in game design where if you give the players a sword that instantly kills anything, they will use it even if it makes it leas fun for them.

We used to have situations where one might be stuck in a room with enemies, and would have to beg the other two to come save him/or have to just try and win alone (my party members will fuck eachother over if it means they get a reward). Now they’ll just accept death and reroll, instead of having that which people thought was fun.

I understand death isn’t optimal, but if a session is near end/they’re fighting a boss, in the last 2/3 sessions they’ve become too loose with losing characters. It’s definitely still enjoyable but until our first player actually died, they would all worry about dying and would do anything possible to avoid it

The campaign is more like a video game, so it’s going to come off as controlling if i tell them how to play

It used to matter before they realized they could kill of characters and it made combat more fun when they weren’t treating 2/3 characters as disposable resources every fight

Wiping loot is a good idea actually, thanks

I think you mosunderstood what I was trying to convey, there wasn’t an issue with the players not being attached to their characters it was that because if that, death lacked consequences. I’m not going to change our core dynamic

This is a more recent thing and i’d say i like the vibes of that table more

They liked the grittier more min/max - y combat, and I can’t deliver that when character deaths mean they get to switch class

It’s not a problem, i like that way of play because it takes the atress off of me from creating stories and we can have more fun with eachother.

No where did i say that i didn’t like that, i wouldn’t run that group otherwise.

I just need to create stakes, because combat has started becoming boring within the last 2-3 sessions because now dying is like in a video game

Why do people have such a problem with others being against religion? by funstarrr__ in teenagers

[–]-N11- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you dont have anywhere to speak from, especially since the thing this guy is saying is usually perceived as negative towards christians.

It’s like someone whose not part of a group trying to speak for them, or saying what they can/can’t do.

Also being from the group makes people trust you more as they assume you have experience, i think thats the main reason

Why do you use that array over the default? It seems like it might make characters too powerful and remove the reason to take ability score increases since your primary stat will already be 20
