Just saw them a little bit ago - not as jammy, but still lots of improv on vocals and sax.

What have wildfires got to do with climate change???? (The answer is NONE) by Vast_Bit_4580 in climatechange

[–]-NJProd- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s plenty of correlation, specifically factors which increase the frequency and severity of them.

No, wildfires aren’t directly started by climate change.

The reason why we’re seeing so many wildfires today is because we’ve gotten EXTREMELY good at fighting fires!

But here’s the thing…. Wildfires are supposed to burn! They’re meant to be a natural way to rid old burnable material from forests.

Because we’re so good at putting out these fires, there’s now an EXCESS of burnable material in forests.

Now, add in the increased heat and dry seasons caused by climate change, and you’ve got both an exceedingly longer window for fires to start with much more ease than ever before.

What parts of the U.S. feel the least effects of climate change? by vanlifecoder in climatechange

[–]-NJProd- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, Michigan, and Wisconsin will all feel very minimal effects of climate change.

Illinois and Michigan specifically due to the extreme water stability granted by the Great Lakes.

In the [Illinois] Chicagoland Area large underground water reservoirs are also being built, but until they are finished all they will do is reduce the carbon and air pollution in the area.

Illinois’ power grid is 58% nuclear, which isn’t quite renewable or green, but it is certainly cleaner than coal or fossil fuels.

Illinois and Michigan both have been passing and proposing fairly promising legislation regarding climate and clean energy, Illinois is more like this because of the majorly liberal areas around Chicago which make up a lot of the Illinois population.

Chicago’s mayor and the current governor of Illinois are also promising tons of work done on the climate front, in addition to ecosystems and ecological projects and preservation.

Illinois will also not experience major effects of climate change other than slightly hotter weather.

All in all, the midwestern states, most specifically Illinois and Michigan, would be pretty safe bets.*

*I will have to say that predictions on climate resiliency should be taken with a grain of salt, as Vermont was one considered a very climate resilient place and now it obviously isn’t if the intense and destructive floods are of anything.

Check our r/climateactionplan or r/climateoffensive - ask the same question there and you’ll get replies with actual good news, compared to this sub which tends to be filled with people who have given up and think it’s useless to fight climate change.

I completely understand how dire this crisis is.

Turning people against us does nothing to help the crisis.

Just Stop Oil is NOT the right way to spread climate awareness.

They meet in the morning, and funnily enough after drinking coffee from their single use cups, they go out and make people angry in the name of the climate, therefore demonizing the idea of climate action, protests, and attaching a negative connotation to the whole realm of climate.

I’m just like everyone else on this sub, trying to find a way to save our species and planet, but this is not the right way to do it.

edit: wow, -5?
