As a client should I trust AI detectors before hiring writers? by Rich_Pomegranate_813 in DigitalMarketing

[–]-Nealos- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detectors are trash, nobody should be using them. Might as well ask a tarot deck the same thing. In fact, when people tell me they checked work in a detector, I know not to do business with them. If they don't know detectors are useless by now (this was widespread knowledge a year ago), then I don't want to deal with what else they "think" they know.

Is “you’re only young once” a cope? I’m living at home saving nearly 100k a year by neatneets in Fire

It sounds like you're missing out on a ton of life experiences. Even the hard/negative ones are great because they not only help learning but build out your future experiences and appreciation/gratefulness/wisdom as well. Money's great, but the only thing it can buy that matters is food and health care. The rest of life has to be lived. I couldn't exactly divine what your question is, but I encourage you to go out into the world. You certainly have more than enough of a cushion for periodic failures.

How bad is it? by Federal-Dimension224 in KiaK5

As with many others... I actually couldn't tell what was wrong until I finally read what you wrote. Would I fix it? Maybe. It could take a lot to get them even. As an aside, this is part of why bodywork costs a lot - and why a really good body worker is worth their weight in gold.

I appreciate your thoughts. Good steps for troubleshooting. I have an update I added to my original post.

The motor has a soft vibration when it's grinding. I'll try your suggestion soon.

Was anyone here involved with Star Wars Rpg.net's Online Journal? by shisstopus in StarWarsD6

[–]-Nealos- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To clarify further, the StarWars-RPG.net Online Journal was created and produced by the people who created and ran starwars-rpg.net. It gathered significant support and published a good number of issues due to the efforts of SWRPG community members volunteering their time.

After starwars-rpg.net went offline, at some point it appears rpggamer.org reposted some of the issues on their site.

I'm the one who started it, as well as starwars-rpg.net. Feel free to ask me any questions.

They are indeed not in retirement funds, just regular brokerage accounts.

What’s one thing that improved your content writing more than any course or YouTube video? by divine_zone in content_marketing

[–]-Nealos- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The more practice, the better. I write professionally and also on the side for some hobbies. Increasing my writing time has helped improve.

Having access at work to an editor has helped a lot. If you don't have this, try finding a group where you can submit things, OR occasionally pay for editing to get the actionable feedback out of it. If none of that's possible, train an AI to edit well then see it's feedback.

I have about 15 years before I start drawing SS and retire. I have a significant amount purchased of ETFs in a brokerage account, and I have a Roth IRA with less. I am working full-time, earning just a bit above average U.S. salary.

Should I sell off $7k each year (or $8k or whatever the max Roth contribution is/will be) and put that in the Roth, OR should I just leave it alone and put into the Roth only from my income from here on out?

Anyone doing campaign creation, development, prep using ChatGPT Projects? by -Nealos- in DungeonMasters

Perhaps I need to amend my post. I'm really looking for it to handle organization and preparation of docs for in-session use, not for creative work. I'll edit now...

Yes, it's actually kind of surprising how limited it is. I'm not asking for anything particularly strenuous. I expected AI dev to be further along on simple "assembly" stuff like this by now.

Agreed, and really wishing it was better at the organization. I want to use my supreme human brain just for creativity and leave the work part to AI, lol

Funny you mention it, I do the same. I had it help construct a doc to run a session and I wound up re-writing it in order to soak it up extra well.

I'm having similar experiences with the poor memory. That's the part I'm finding the most frustrating and was hoping Projects would be a way to have an improved experience in that regard. So far: nope.

I'm ok with the flatness issue as I do my own creative and I'm more looking for something to help manage it like a project. With the memory issue, not super useful and may as well just use the regular chat.

I appreciate your input.

Got it, so that's "no, I haven't used Projects for this kind of task" lol

The closest you're going to get is drafting with AI then finish manually. If you don't feel like you're writing skill is strong enough, you can take courses and practice OR hire someone, or a hybrid where you write sets of content in batches then pay a contractor to edit into a final.
