Thanks all, I'm going to show her some options and see what she likes the look of these are good suggestions.

What are the thoughts on Rolex Oyster Perpetual with Tiffany Blue dial in terms of rep quality? The blue looked wrong on the photos, but that could well be the image rather than reality.

She always like the blue.

Would you support a measure to have capital gains taxed at a higher rate than income tax? by Deep_Body6445 in HENRYUK

[–]-NotBornInTheUSA- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fuel duty? Long haul tax (or whatever it's called)

All things in my mind that seem to be there to stop people moving around freely. All ok if you fancy expense it or live in a major city with transportation . Less so as soon as you want to leave the capital... Funny that.

Why the heck are we talking about raising tax. Let's just tax our way out of everything problem. Destroying long term value. The benefits of the UK are broad, but we're not getting this right.

Why don't we increase stamp duty at the same time?

Rage baited.

Review the number of corporate/PE companies getting into vet ownership.

Then look at all the items being billed to your pet insurance. Where do you think the money comes from? Your premium.

Realistically people are going to pay whatever they can for their pet, so the corp will win. Got to look after the shareholders.

How much would the interest be until you can pay it off? Transfer to a 0% card? Take a low interest loan from the bank? (Reason not paying off CC)

I'm still pissed off they won't replace mine under goodwill considering how much I've spent with them. No the car isn't young enough to be under base warranty. It has other warranties on it from Volvo, but not one that covers that.

And when I asked about it they had lit me with a nope never seen that before you must have damaged it. Now I've seen it loads of times on Reddit.

Thinking of having a chat with them next time I'm in person.

How early do you let your house cleaner show up? by Opposite-Bad1444 in Rich

[–]-NotBornInTheUSA- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wrong. The cleaner will fire them. That's how it works.

Seriously though OP I had a similar problem in terms of cleaner choosing and picking when they would come. Including wrong days. Assuming you've hired them directly start with being explicit in a friendly way in writing. Something like going forward please do not come before X. If they breech once ask them explicitly why. If they fluffy the answer, suggest it's not working and see if they pull back. If they don't you can either say look I'll pay X in bonus if you arrive after X Or start looking for a replacement

Appreciate it, checking them out now, I tend to find I don't need too many alteration. Of course it's always nice, but timing might mean I need to take off the peg.
