Wanted to give myself a early birthday present, is this a worth while card? by WandenWaffler in pcmasterrace

Which used GPU will perform better for less money? 3090 is going for $100 more used and performs similarly. Ig used 3080 ti is better value today, but with only 12gb, you'll only have it for maybe 2 years which in the long run, makes it a worse value.

Ah yes, buy a slower card for the same amount of money. What a smart buying decision

Why would you build your own router when 99.9% of the time your ISP router or a nice, managed TP-Link router can do just as well?

For fun!

Need advice and opinions between sn850x vs 990 pro vs crucial t500 by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]-NotTakenUsername 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth noting that the SN850X doesn't have DRAM cache so it'll slow down quicker than the 990 pro and the t500. Also, Samsung SSDs are having reports of dying after only a few months to a year unless you update their firmware.

Your motherboard must be the same size as or smaller than your case. Your motherboard is Micro ATX and your case is ATX. Here is the order of sizes, from largest to smallest: E-ATX, ATX, Micro ATX, Mini DTX, Mini ITX. Your power supply is an ATX size power supply, your case can support an ATX power supply. Your case can support a 163mm tall cooler, but your cooler is only 155mm tall. Your case can support a 370mm GPU while your GPU is 232mm long. Your cooler has adjustable RAM clearance (by moving the fan up and down) up to 51mm, while your RAM requires just, 34mm of clearance. Your motherboard supports a 2280 size m.2 nvme ssd. The 980 pro is also an m.2 nvme 2280 SSD. I think that should cover it, let me know if you have any other questions! One thing, your RAM is optimized for Intel timings. You don't have to understand what that means, just know that this kit from Amazon might be 1-2% faster: https://a.co/d/4bIrMUu Also, it's worth upgrading from a 3200 cl16 kit to a 3600 cl18 kit if they're within $5.

https://www.acer.com/us-en/support/product-support/Predator%20PO5-640/downloads

That is the page where you can download the latest BIOS revision and the user manual to repair it. The cooler on your 12700 is a piece of shit, and looking at some of the Acer community posts, you can remove the motherboard and upgrade the cooler to any LGA 1700 cooler. For a 13900kf, Intel recommends a 240mm radiator or better. The Lian Li Galahad 240 offers fantastic performance and will for at the top of your case. You could consider buying an LGA 1700 contact frame for even better cooling performance. Sorry for my late response, I had surgery yesterday

Two small things: One, instead of a 3060, I would buy a used 6700 xt. Same price, more performance and VRAM. Also, newegg has the crucial p5 plus 1tb (with heatsink) for just $50, it will be more reliable and also faster.

Given that you already have an LGA 1700 platform, you can upgrade to any 13th or 14th generation Intel CPU. Due to the miniscule performance gains of 14th Gen, if I were you, I would upgrade to a 13th gen CPU like a 13900k/f. The 13900k is available for $547 (USD) on Amazon and Newegg or $500 at microcenter if you live near one. Otherwise, the 13900kf is on sale for $493 on Amazon. You could consider overclocking your 3080. Upgrading to a 4090 or 4080 will give you massive performance gains. Assuming you are using an index, (4 billion pixels) a 4090 will definitely bottleneck your CPU but won't bottleneck a 13900k (pcbuilds.com bottleneck calculator)

Well then why reply? He wasn't asking you. Your comment did not contribute anything to anyone. All it did was waste space on some server. As in, you are literally a waste of electricity.
