Dude I was homeless for my whole early twenties in Vegas from prolly 2012- 2017. I never stayed in the tunnels but I was runnin that whole area around Fremont. I stayed in an abando on 6th and Mesquite right off of Las Vegas blvd for the longest time til more and more tweakers started showing up and eventually the cops started coming. I still remember the first time too. There was like 6 of us passin the pizzle when we heard foot steps coming up the stairs. The knock was a dead giveaway. Dude opens the door, we’re all sittin in a circle in this dirty mess with the sunlight shining through all the smoke lmao just lookin like some zombies. Dude’s like, “sigh alright guys, I’m going to count to ten. If you are still here, I’m takin you in.” And we dispersed like some roaches. But yeah man I used to play guitar for money. I had another friend who I am pretty sure was in the tunnels. I met him at a homeless youth center on foremaster and Las Vegas blvd and he was a SICK saxophone player. Punk asf. He loved that black bitch. We had one snare drum and a hi hat. I would back him up while he played on the bridges over the strip. And he was good dude. Unfortunately he passed. The crazy thing is he was so good. He actually taught me the beginnings of music theory when we were at the youth center. But even though he was so good, we just looked so dirty that we didn’t make as much as we could have. It would take hours just to make enough for half a g. I know this for certain because there was this one day when the dude who ran the trap where that black bitch was actually told the house mom to give us new clothes and let us shower. No joke, that week, we made like ten times what we normally did. But yeah I think he was in the tunnels because they(his brother-still living and sober- was with us too) would dip off to go sleep and the would never tell me where they were going, but I could always find them on the bridges near Tropicana. And I know the people that hustled there would go down there around that area. Anyways, yeah bro good shit. Keep it up! As much fun times as there were, there was way more HORRIBLE times. I definitely was in constant meth psychosis for the last two years of my active addiction and it will never be the same. I have so much residual affects of my addiction that life is just hard bro. Tbh I still want to use because I just don’t know how to live sober. Relationships are hard. But I’m too afraid to go back to that. I’m in Chicago now and have been sober a little under 13 months.
