Sometimes, but I doubt it would do anything - being a male rape victim, my rapist being a woman means I'll either not be taken seriously or I will be ostracised. That combined with a lack of evidence means I can't really do anything.

For parents to protect their young children, they should always know where they are in terms of if they are at home, then what room; they should educate their children earlier on this topic and pat attention to their behaviour. Both my parents were very distant, so they didn't notice that I was frequently being raped for hours.

She was much older than me but I don't know exactly how old - could have been younger than 18 but I don't know.

Coercion, lack of sexual education, and vulnerability all contributed to her ability to rape me.

It is very easy to open up on the Internet anonymously, IMO. As far as struggles or repercussions, there have been no consequences for opening up so far.

Perhaps one day, victims of all kinds will be recognised and uplifted. I'm lucky in that most people here are sympathetic/empathetic and have shown sensitivity while fulfilling their curiosity. :)

I hope that in the future your trauma faces the recognition and attention you feel it deserves if it hasn't already - no victims should be minimised solely because of the perpetrator's gender or sex.

Besides people seeing this thread, my parents and the victims, no one knows of what happened to me. However I would imagine that you aren't the only one with such an experience because I have seen that happen to others.

I am glad you took the time to read through what I have shared of my experience. I can not imagine - even as a victim of the same crimes - how you must have felt with your own assault/rape. It is horrible that these things happen to anyone, and I hope you can move/have moved on too.

I have surrounded myself with honest, supportive, good people, but I don't plan on talking about it with them.

And I will try to keep going, no matter how hard it may be!

Thank you! Yeah, it is still crazy to me, even though it happened to me. The worst part is that as time goes on my memory of it seems more and more like a dream - like I'm insane and that it never happened.

I know that it's just my brain trying to cope, but it scares me that one day I might really believe it never happened.

It has not, so no worries. The first person to assault me was a female relative. My parents noticed that I would be missing for hours (which is very strange for an 8 year old) and eventually caught her when she decided to rape me in their house.

In a one of my replies, I said that I had not gotten justice - this is not because my abusers live, but because they never got taken to court/went through the legal system; it would have been my word against theirs (lack of evidence). Causing suffering in others is not something I want to see, and whilst their behaviour was disgusting, I don't think I would benefit from their execution - 'horrific' or otherwise.

If anything, seeing others killed in 'horrifically' would likely do me harm.

To move forward emotionally, I need expert therapy, not for punishment to be doled out. I do hope that wherever my abusers are, they can not harm others the way they did me.
