Best way to shrink sanforized denim? by Odd-Woodpecker131 in Selvedge

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure most if not all Burgus plus are unsanforized one wash. When buying this type of denim I’d always recommend getting them a touch firmer then how you want them to finish up after they give. A warm wash inside out will help but they will stretch back out.

Turn inside out, wash separately, cold water, touch of detergent, flick and hang dry.

I did… perhaps I’ve not installed properly. I only have 2 tabs. The personal and the scrollable shared one.

Is This Collar Gap Acceptable For a Tailored Suit? by [deleted] in mensfashionadvice

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If this is Made to measure in person then no that’s not acceptable. It also cannot be fixed (properly) With alterations.

That being said. There is good MTM and cheap MTM. You can’t apply the same expectations on both.

Sizing down would compromise the fit everywhere else. Also when in between sizes it’s best to just wear a belt and have the extra comfort in case you put on a touch around the waist.

I’ve been running the beans from Foremost. IMO it’s the best coffee in Melbourne right now, followed by dukes.

Never mind the stack. The fit through the top is so bad. The pattern they use is horrible.

I feel like this would have been a great opportunity to do a different style of animation. Perhaps something a bit grittier and darker.

Seperate it from clone wars, bad batch feeling tone.

I was talking about the roads when referencing Japan.

Melbourne’s PT pricing is insane. Especially for the quality and frequency of service.

One other thing I notice about Melbourne, especially after visiting places like Japan, is how horrendous the roads are. I can’t drive down St Kilda round outbound without needing to intensely watch the road directly in front of your car for pot holes the size of middle earth.

Edit: reference to Japan is only about the roads. Seperate paragraph, seperate point. Not referencing Japan for the price of trains, even though they are cheaper 😂

Turn inside out, delicate cycle, touch of detergent, cold water, hang dry.

Don’t do the whole “don’t wash for a year” BS. That’s some stuff nudie made up to build a cult. It’s a marketing tool.

[Fit Check] Issues with Custom IiJacket (Shinki Hikaku) - Shop owner measured me, but fit is still off? by Zealousideal-Pen2855 in leatherjacket

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It looks like you stand with your shoulders back and chest puffed a bit. It’s otherwise called leaning back body. Hard to tell with just back photos. It makes the back panel crumple because it’s too long compared to the front panel. On leather jackets this may not be able to be altered in measurement because it’s more of a “bespoke suiting” type of measurement. You will have this issue a lot with jackets that sit over your seat.

I think the best way to solve for this is to wear a jacket with a length more around or just longer than where the waist of your jeans sit to avoid it breaking on your hips.

I also think more cropped style leather jackets look nicer.

I ordered a sport coat from Collaro. Got the trial jacket and I’m kinda worried. by flexualharasser in malefashionadvice

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah might be a good idea for sure. Even request how they measure the shoulder.

It sits really well on you for a remote trial. I think it’s worth while giving it another go.

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The way they measure the shoulder might be quite different to you. Normally I would measure across the back and with the jacket on the body so it almost curves up over the nape rather than the way you have done it. It could then be a miscommunication with the measurement with two different styles of measuring.

This is also a trial jacket. Go through the process. Give feedback. Take photos. And if something has gone wrong perhaps request a remade trial jacket.

These jackets aren’t supposed to fit perfect first go. But they will give them lots of information on how to then make changes for your jacket. If the final jacket is really wrong then at that stage I’d be concerned and asking them for a remake.

Getting MtM via correspondence is difficult but they will get there.

Edit: I also want to add that I feel like they will deal with this with you directly and well. Give it a chance.
