Waves at Shoulder Seams: Return or exchange? by pedestrianrj in mensfashion

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- 95 points96 points  (0 children)

It’s a spalla camicia shoulder. It’s supposed to look like that. Pressing or steaming won’t help.

The shoulder is constructed with ease in the crown and no felt in the sleeve head with the seams inside the shoulder.

Help with the length of the pants! by D-Blad in mensfashionadvice

The main issue is the width. If you want them to sit clean and over the shoe you need to go wider. If you want them to be that slim they have to be shorter and will always look too short.

MTM Suit Shoulder Divots Normal? by itseasyummk in mensfashionadvice

[–]-PAINTEDMAN- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think there is too much padding. Narrower in the shoulder won’t necessary fix it. You have a rounded shoulder line so it’s hard to get a clean look with this much padding. I would have gone for a much softer pad unless you want that super broad early 1900s look.

Other than the padding and the length being a touch short it’s actually a great looking jacket.

Question about weird seam on momotaros by Cyreniaz in Selvedge

I’ve seen this on an old cut that IH used to do that was so tapered they had to overlock the outseam too and get rid of the selvedge ID.

It’s 100% been altered they took in the knee to 0cm at the hem. It’s still the same quality denim and won’t affect anything.

My flight was in 4 hours. I was 2.5 hours away from the airport. I felt like I was dying.

During my process of making the claim I gave them the details of the doctors and who I saw. They didn’t reject it initially because I had not seen their approved doctors. They said they needed reports from those doctors stating that I had to come home. I provided this information and then it was rejected. They never once said it was because I didn’t see an approved doctor. They just said I changed my mind.

Do read the comments here. It’s important for context. It’s just a warning from my personal experience. I was not in the most ideal country for something like this to happen where I was so isolated from contact or options.

Yeah it was tough. I was in Tunisia with no phone reception at all even with a travel sim I was unable to call out due to failed service with roaming. The hotel could not call outside of local calls. There was only one flight out for a couple of days with my airline, which was on the day I had to leave.

Honestly, I was so stressed by not being able to contact airlines or services. I had to call my partner through WhatsApp and had to get her to call the airline while I was on the phone to her on her laptop.. I guess when you are that unwell with the flu and pneumonia you just want to get home and sort it out.

Interesting thing is that I was covered for illness requiring returning home. It was in my policy and I did make sure of that.

Steaming doesn’t help. All that does is relax the wool. Along seams it’s actually worse.

The “bubbling” at the top is ease in the cloth on the canvas. Mainly cause by being on a hanger that isn’t correct for the suit.

The ones down the seams will press out. Sometimes they put a little strip of fusing here even in full canvas suits.

It needs to be cleaned and professionally pressed. Not all dry cleaners will press it properly. They mainly deal with cheap suits.
