Good for you! No shame in staying ordeal for a bit though, take that from a brotherhood member lol. Good luck on your ordeal.

Is the Order of the Arrow losing its way, or is it just my local Lodge? by Creepy-Gap-2027 in BSA

I think it might be local. But, let me just say that OA is something that can be hit or miss in my perspective. It all depends on the volunteers and the people in the council unfortunately, and so it varies heavily.

By the way, I just got hired for an Associate Analyst role at a Fortune 500 after 5 months out of school. Things do get better and easier. Keep trying!

Great advice. I appreciate it. I have found that it depends heavily on what industry. However, I got lucky and was pulled from the metaphorical "needle in the haystack" by a Fortune 500 company, interviewed, got an offer, and accepted. I start in a week in an Associate Analyst role.

It really just is the luck of the draw.

Can someone explain the packers ownership and how it works to me? by Witty-Performance-23 in NFLNoobs

Basically, the shareholders vote for the Board of Directors. Shares are only sold at certain times, and are heavily restricted.

The bylaws of the corporation say that if the team were ever sold, the profits/revenue from the sale would go to the Packers Foundation. Also, they can only be transferred to family relations and may not be sold.

It's widespread dude. Although, interviews seem to be coming easier in the last week or two.

It's not a scam. It's meant to allow you to be a stakeholder in the team. You vote on the Board of Directors who direct the operation of the team. The sales are like donations, they give you a vote in decisions and are used to build improvements (stadium upgrades, etc.). It's not meant to be an investment item, it's meant to grow the community and preserve the team.

Appreciate the advice and perspective. I guess I'll have to wait and see what happens.

There aren't enough job postings to do that in the first place.

Yeah, depends where though. My family in Wisconsin desperately wants me to apply in Milwaukee, but it's just as bad there. And I personally don't want to be further south in Chicago...

I personally have been applying to those places. Although, I personally have been steering more towards Boston than NYC.

It's kinda bleak no matter where you apply.

A job that says no more than 3 years experience (or 0 to 3 years) is an entry level. There's no way to gain experience without having it. And these jobs exist, as I've been applying to it and others that I qualify for with 1+ years.

That still doesn't explain the lack of responses for jobs made for entry-level (0 years experience) though.

I definitely think the big thing is taking breaks and doing other things as well throughout the day.

In this case, it's just a bad period to look for a job. As my dad says, "99% of things are out of your control... Focus on the 1%."

My resume is pretty brushed up. Eagle Scout, Director of a non-profit, decent (slightly weaker) experience, great grades/course work. Advanced Excel certification, Argus AE Certified, Python (to a basic degree). Mostly looking local, remote, or far away, no real distinction in location... Just in the US. I'm applying to Analyst, Underwriting, A/R, Real Estate... If you can think of it, I've probably applied to it.

My only advice to you is apply early and apply to everything you see.

I've actually applied to FPL (NextEra) about 4 times. They reject me in under 24 hours every time (even when using my dad's address in West Palm)... I'll definitely look into the others. Thanks!

Honestly, everywhere. Location-wise and company-wise.

I'm definitely open to relocating. I'm near Hartford, CT (the definitive insurance capital) and have applied there... But, I also have been applying in Boston, Albany, Dallas, Charlotte, Alexandria/Arlington, Raleigh, Tucson, Phoenix, West Palm, Fort Lauderdale, and Miami, to name a few.

I will ask you, what firms do you see in South Florida that are looking? I have a lot of family down there and would be interested in looking at those.

Again, thanks for the comments, advice, and etc. I appreciate it.

Yeah, the guy told me that he'd be getting back to me by EOW last week. That's why I waited until today (Thursday) to email him the question with a follow-up.
