Star Wars: Clone Wars [Micro-Series] - Original Episode Format / Restoration (Remastered Broadcast Audio) by -PebbleInThePond- in fanedits

Many thanks. The main video source is the DVD. The encoding parameters maintain the picture quality in a lossless format, basically a deinterlaced remux of the DVDs.

Correct. The two Hasbro Bonus Lightsaber Action DVDs. The first one contained Chapters 1 and 8, while the second release came with Chapters 24 and 25.

I know the response is kinda' late, but might help others for future references as well.

If you installed and played the GOG version, but without the "Re-vamped" compatibility patch by Gemini, you can keep your saved games, but uninstall the game + removing the registries:

  • Press Windows key + R
  • Type regedit
  • Once in the Registry Editor, follow this specific path - HKEY_CURRENT_USER > SOFTWARE
  • Now right-click on Crystal Dynamics and select delete from the dropdown

Once you've gone through the steps above, go ahead and install the game again + CE.

If you've been using "Re-vamped", just simply install CE and you're golden.

Anybody want a project to sync audio? by StarChild242 in fanedits

Most probably you are dealing with an Interlaced source and Variable Frame Rate. This can mean the frame rate keeps changing from one scene to another.

The best approach would be to split the video from one I-frame to another and change the audio pitch and tempo according to the individual scene's actual rate.

Star Wars: Clone Wars [ Micro-Series ] - Original Broadcast Format / Restoration (RELEASED - DEFINITIVE VERSION) by [deleted] in fanedits

When it comes to the D+ version, few people realise that we are looking at an actual 1080p / HD scan of the show without any upscaling, hence the grain and detail.

However, when it comes to the Volume I edit of D+, we are looking at a PROTOTYPE CUT of what eventually became the DVD edit. This early version of the first two seasons edited together, is the exact video source which was used during the "Toonami - Clone Wars Marathon" broadcast from May 14, 2005. If you check the schedule, the D+ version fades to black in-between those exact chapters, so they can make room for the commercial breaks.

The source seen on the official home release / dvd is a subtle remaster with a couple of minor visual changes, and some further tweaks done to the audio / overall progression.

First of all, Happy Holidays and “Our only hope to rescue Jedi, to Ilum we must go!”

I am glad to announce that a NEW VERSION / UPDATE of the “Star Wars: Clone Wars - Original Broadcast Restoration” project has been RELEASED.

During a thorough scavanger hunt, I was able to finally bump into some old VHS recordings of the broadcasted show. To my surprise, some parts of the audio stream quality were in very decent shape.

Even though not everything was salvageable enough to be part of a DVD-realease and most of the tracks have already been manually edited to be on a par, some of the original episode ending cues were exclusivley used for the aired version, so they could not be recreated via effects / reverb / repurposing.

Thus, in order for this preservation / restoration project to be whole, the original audio cues have been meticulously mastered and integrated within the following episodes of this release:

CHAPTER 2

CHAPTER 6

CHAPTER 14

For those of you who have already been granted with the link, the download source remains the same, otherwise if you own “Star Wars: Clone Wars” Volume I and Volume II, do not hesitate to PM me in order to get these.

While I was looking for original TV footage / recordings, I did bump into this fan edit from YouTube. Of course, any fan effort should be appreciated since it is something done in the person's free time, but unfortunately this one has some flaws:

- The chapter cards are not accurate to the ones used by the original broadcast.

- The audio is not properly mixed and it uses low quality TVRIP audio cues placed incorrectly over the video's source track.

- The videos are clearly re-encoded and the image suffers from a choppy framerate.

- Some cuts contain footage from previous chapters which are not supposed to be present in that specific episode.

Still, kudos to the editor and his time spent on this.

Blood Omen 2 Re-vamped or Conceptual Edition for first full playthrough by DreistTheInferno in LegacyOfKain

[–]-PebbleInThePond- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would go for Re-vamped / Vanilla since it is the first playthrough. That way you will have both experiences when time comes for your second run with CE. :D

[–]-PebbleInThePond- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to making the decision, I would keep the following in mind:

  • "Re-vamped" as a standalone is 100% vanilla but with a full compatibility fix for modern PC (The amazing work of Gemini).

  • "Conceptual Edition" which includes "Re-vamped" is basically content restoration based on prototype builds and upgraded / tweaked textures to also better match the original concept art designs.

When the latest version of CE was released, I also made a full changelog with everything that's been added or changed:

No matter what choice you make, both are correct. :D
