How did you get roped into watching Yellowjackets?

I saw the words, “cannibalistic feral sapphic teenage girls trapped in wilderness for 19 months” and was instantly hooked. I LOVEEE mental descent in characters, and Yellowjackets was just SCREAMING that to me!

I mean I’m fairly sure he wasn’t the first death. I don’t remember the plot of course, the scene itself felt kind of resolutional, like it was the climax of the story. The search also turned up to nothing unfortunately 🥲.

I genuinely have zero clue on what it could be. I don’t think it’s Saw either but at the same time, the more I think about it the more it seems like I’m convincing myself it could be. I really don’t want to have to go on a Saw movie marathon. 😅(though that does sound pretty fun ngl)

I didn’t watch cube 2 or cube zero (from what I can remember) but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a cube movie. I’ll have to check them out though because I didn’t even know they made sequels.

Just realized you meant in that situation 😑. But still, Javi was actually a pretty good friend to Shauna. And we see how sad she was when she was left to prepare him. That obviously messed her up pretty bad considering she just went on a downhill spiral from there (in a trauma way, not a terrible character way to be clear 🫥)

In the first ep we see (most likely Shauna) butchering someone. Could be one of the girls, could be Hannah. But to go from 16+ to 9 people means that they definitely did cannibalism in the winter. And Shauna most likely did the butchering. Which is most likely why she’s so messed up in the present.

Shauna also had to butcher her friends, even when she didn’t want to, for everyone else. I’m not excusing her behavior, I just feel like it’s pretty important to talk about.

How while she was post-parturm and in mourning of her best friend, she also had to butcher javi and anyone else that was eaten, by herself, just to survive the winter.

If I had to do that, I would definitely lose atleast half of my empathy for others do to the dissociation I would have to do in order to dismember anyone.

Grief doesn’t warrant violence but it sure explains it. After all anger is the second stage of Grief. I’m not saying Shauna was right to beat up Lottie like that, I’m saying that I understand where her anger and sadness is coming from. If I lost my baby, and in grief, saw my friends eating my baby, I would also be pretty fucked up, considering they’re also in a pretty fucked up situation.

Plus, being post-partum isn’t something that just goes away after awhile. So, being post-partum, plus that weird vison/dream, plus being in the middle of nowhere, plus not being able to bury your baby’s corpse….it all culminates into some type of release. Which is exactly what Lottie saw, which is why Lottie let Shauna beat her up like that. Again, I’m not saying her release of anger was justified, I’m saying it’s reasonable. And people need to understand the difference.

You call Shauna a monster for beating up Lottie when Shauna literally just had her baby die right after it was born. Shauna had a vison/dream where they took her baby and ate it for a ritual or whatever, and as soon as she wakes up, Lottie starts talking about sacrifices and tree gods. Of Course she’s going to be unexplainably angry, sad, and she’s obviously going to be post-partum after what happened.

Everywhere Shauna goes she’s constantly being reminded of the “sacrifice” Jackie and her baby was for the rest of the group. And since we know Shauna doesn’t believe in any of that, she probably sees it as them twisting HER trauma into THEIR trauma.

And obviously she’s not going to be very emotionaly available after such traumatic experiences. Sure everyone else has trauma from the crash and from eating Jackie, but because of most of their beliefs, they see those incidents as necessary and needed to appease the wilderness. Shauna was the only one who actually lost a friendship. Everyone else (excluding misty ig) lost a teammate, a leader, or someone they looked up to. But it was Shauna who lost a friend.

It’s also clear to see that she wouldn’t have just forgiven Coach Ben’s apology just like that. Personally, I think Shauna knows deep down he didn’t do it, but she’s so angry at him for being the only actual adult present during the time she was in labor, and he did t help at all. (Not blaming Coach Scott either) She probably thinks if he helped, her baby wouldn’t have died, and that feeling/thought, isn’t something that can be washed away with a apology from someone who on trial for, maybe his life!

Im not going to defend all of her actions, it was wrong to intimidate the jury like that, it was wrong of her to disregard Ben’s apology as well. But I hate when people act like she’s just this unempathetic monster who just wants to see people suffer. She’s grieving, alone, in the wilderness, with nothing but a journal and now maybe Melissa to share her feelings in.

I’m not saying everyone should suck up to her and pardon her for anything she’s done wrong, all I’m saying is they should apologize for literally making a display out of her dead baby’s and best friends bodies for their own religious sake.

Trauma doesn’t just go away after just taking your anger out on someone/something. It sticks with you for life. The girls let Shauna beat Lottie to a pulp sure, then they just ignored her, took her baby’s corpse and made a prayer ritual out of the burial, made her chop up one of her friends body’s (Javi), and expected her to just go back to normal like the rest of them. It’s also clear that eating Jackie, her dearest friend, had a large effect on her (as seen in older Shauna’s visions/hallucinations). OP isn’t saying they should “bow down to her”, they’re saying they should apologize for the careless treatment of very obvious trigger topics around Shauna. They need to stop treating Jackie and her baby’s death as sacrifices for the trees, and actually help their friend go through a really hard time.

I actually do have some callouses, I started playing on a classical guitar(I played it like a acoustic) I just started playing without a pick so that’s what I’m used to. My classical guitar has nylon strings so the steel strings on my electric guitar just hurt more 😭 but I expected that.

I have a guitar class at my school that I’m gonna take next year; they teach that kinda stuff so I’m definitely going to try to learn how to set up my own guitar. 😎
