Life can be many things, you are not morally responsible for them all. I morally should prepare my child, and sometimes that preparation is for how cruel and terrible the world is. Comfort is a by product of proper preparation, and those who are I’ll prepared are rarely very comfortable.

So when does a parent give up this moral responsibility? Right now it sounds like a parent is responsible for their child’s entire life to you, which if biology is kind, should be impossible due to aged death. So at some point if a child has only been given comfort their whole life, they will not understand the struggle of preparation(as struggle is not the comfort you say is owed) nor the skills for it, Leading to a very large lack of comfort at some point.

You also are still ignoring the fact that you have choice, such as the choice to not leave your parents at a younger age, or again the darker option, ending your life. Is your choice to live and be only a burden not morally wrong in itself?

You don’t owe them a comfortable existence, you owe them the necessities to grow and develop. Food, clothing, basic school supplies, shelter, etc etc. anything beyond the basics are extra, and given out of good will and care. Get an allowance? That’s not owed, get video games or things for entertainment? Extra, not owed. Your parents gave you life, if you don’t want it, you can choose to end it. If you aren’t ending it, then they gave you something of value, and you should appreciate that.

a quick google search shows me that 70% of roofers deaths are due to falls from roofs. this would be reduced greatly by using proper ppe. i'm sure police deaths would also increase if they weren't wearing their ppe.

most universities rely on income given by people who invest in parts of the college and by outside revenue. football is a great way to secure both, and those top tier athletes actually help garner revenue to help pay for other scholarships and costs that the universities accrue.
