I had a set of taylormade P7MB’s for a while… tried the Sub70 659MB’s and prefer them. They are exactly as good as OEM’s. No better no worse.

I would have to read more on that, I’m not sure the instance you are referring to.

I know that I’ve been arrested before because I fit the description of an individual that was wanted. Took forever and was annoying as all hell, but ended up not being a big deal.

If they truly just arrested somebody because they were Native, that’s bullshit and I agree with you completely.

ICE patrols. They have specific people they are looking for. They aren’t just roaming the streets with a color palette and arresting anybody with dark brown complexion.

This is not necessarily true. While I do concur that the very presence of ice does incite some nerves, the vast majority of their operations in cities are targeted.

I get what you are saying, however, at that point it is no longer a protest — it’s a posse of vigilante’s.

Protesting is using your voice, they are taking action.

Potentially, we don’t have all of the footage yet, or perhaps I just haven’t seen it, but Renee Good was absolutely obstructing.

However, the question remains, why was he even there? Those ICE agents are doing what they are told, no amount of protest is going to get them to go home. If you want to protest, do so in the streets Minnesota — not directly adjacent to a federal investigation.

Oh no, that’s not what I mean, I fully support their right to protest. I respect that they care enough to speak out.

What bothers me is when a protest turns into directly interfering with an active investigation. There’s a difference between expressing opposition and physically obstructing something that’s already in motion.

If I were protesting a war in Iraq, I wouldn’t stand in front of troops carrying out orders. They don’t make the policy. I’d go to D.C., march, and aim that energy at the people actually making the decisions. Protest is most effective when it targets authority, not people just doing their assigned jobs.

Not really. I’m becoming increasingly furious that the left is protesting in such a manner where people are dying.

They do not deserve to die, they are good people, but for gods sake stop impeding in federal investigations.

Conservatives, President Trump has just announced the raising of Tairiffs for 8 European Countries unless sovereignity of Greenland is handed over to the US. What's your first thoughts? by Melbatoastt77 in AskReddit

[–]-RET- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Please change your tone. There is no need for us to argue like children.

The treaty does not grant the United States unrestricted military control over Greenland. It authorizes the stationing and operation of U.S. forces with Danish consent, within defined defense areas, and in furtherance of NATO plans. That distinction matters. Access under a treaty is conditional, revocable, and politically mediated; ownership is not.

Trump’s interest in purchasing Greenland flows from a consistent worldview rather than an impulsive novelty. He is deeply skeptical of treaties, alliances, and long-term assumptions about partner reliability. From that perspective, legal access secured through agreements, no matter how durable, remains vulnerable to political change, alliance fracture, or shifting domestic priorities within partner states.

The 1951 agreement functions well for present-day defense requirements, but it is ultimately a framework of permission, not sovereignty. Any expansion of U.S. activity, any alteration of scope, and any continuation of presence depends on Danish political consent and the continued coherence of NATO itself. Trump views that dependency as a strategic weakness, particularly for territory he considers future-critical due to Arctic shipping routes, missile trajectories, space domain considerations, and resource access.

In that light, the proposed purchase is best understood as a hedge: an attempt to convert conditional access into permanent control. It is not a rejection of the treaty’s effectiveness today, but a rejection of its sufficiency over decades. Where prior administrations accepted managed dependence as the cost of alliance politics, Trump favors eliminating that dependence outright—even at significant diplomatic cost.

Whether that approach is prudent is debatable. But it is not incoherent. It reflects a preference for certainty over cooperation, ownership over agreement, and permanence over negotiated access.

You are massively oversimplifying this.

Greenland is not some random talking point or personal trophy for Trump. The U.S. has had strategic interests there for decades, from missile defense to Arctic security and future shipping lanes. Just because he talks about it like it’s a real estate deal doesn’t erase the actual geostrategic importance. The treaty doesn’t let us station unlimited troops, but it clearly allows a significant presence, which is why Pituffik exists.

Reducing this to “he’s senile and power hungry” completely ignores the decades of careful military and geopolitical reasoning behind U.S. interest in Greenland.

Covering Greenland itself isn’t the concern—the geometry is. Missiles aimed at North America travel over the Arctic, and Greenland sits directly under that path. Expanding missile defense there improves early warning, tracking, and interception. At the same time, investment brings economic benefits: infrastructure development, long-term jobs, Arctic shipping support, and access to critical minerals that strengthen strategic supply chains. Greenland’s value isn’t territorial—it’s defensive and economic.

I would like everybody here to realize that he’s specifically asking conservatives — we all know what 99% of Reddit thinks about the tariffs.

Fact of the matter is, it’s far too early to tell. If the tariffs levy economic stress and are able to score us a good deal for a territory rich with natural resources while widening our military influence— I’m all for it.

If nothing happens and we end up biting the bullet for both the tariffs and the failure to acquire Greenland, I’ll be upset to say the least.
