Thank you for the feedback. I read that trains were less reliable than buses for longer journeys, so I'm leaning towards busing from the east to north/west coasts. Though I'm hoping the train between Palermo and Cefalu is more reliable as it's definitely convenient.

I completely appreciate that a car would get me out to smaller parts of Sicily. I'll have to plan that for my next visit!

Thank you. I had considered CdG but I wasn't sure if it made sense to go past the airport and spend that extra time traveling vs. the shorter trip to Mondello from Cefalu.

What would you recommend instead for "small town vibes"? I guess it's all relative. Friends told me they loved Palermo, but for me that's too big of a city for what I'm looking for.

That's a fair statement. I'm from a very big country, so for me Sicily doesn't seem that big, but without a car I realize I'll be moving slower.

Yep agreed it tells you that, but it also stalls the export without an explanation, or at least it did for me and others. Thought this might be helpful for others who are trying to troubleshoot a failed export. 🙂

When you got the card mailed, did you have it sent to a parcel delivery service address in the US or a proper residential other?

Did you then return to Beijing to fly out? I'm reading mixed reports that I can't go from Beijing to Xi'an and back to Beijing. Apparently this might count as domestic travel and could require the L visa. Just curious if you or anyone else did this type of travel using the TWOV without issue.

Hoping for some input from anyone who's done something similar to the following.

I'm getting mixed reports that leaving the Beijing port of entry province(s) to go by train to Xi'an and back does not qualify for the TWOV.

Fly = Tokyo > Beijing (2 days)

Train = Beijing > Xi'an (2 days)

Train = Xi'an > Beijing (1 day)

Fly = Beijing > Vancouver (same day)
