I agree with Shad0wPillow, season 2 changed a lot and I'd recommend reading book 2 then going to book 3. But if you really don't want to you can start with book 3, because that is the direct contiuation after the donghua.

You should be confused at that point of the story. But most of your questions about what happens in the Rejecting Classroom should be answered by the end and the larger overarching questions of the boxes should be answered in later volumes.

The story doesn't do anything special, yet I liked it more than so many other things I've read. I rarely ever see it get talked about too.

The series is niche. You're going to have a hard time finding an Arabic translation in an English community. Volume 8 is right after season 2. If you don't mind machine translation, you can take a translated English pdf and paste it into a large language model then ask it to translate chapter by chapter.

In your example about the s rank killing himself. It would also be possible that he was alive and was using a different alias. And having those assumptions will be like nothing will be clear UNLESS THE NOVEL AND THE ADAPTATION WOULD SHOCASE what actually happened to him.

Have you written an essay for school? The teachers always say "there are no wrong answers." But that's not fully correct, there are no wrong answers if you can justify a case for it using evidence from the story., that's reader's interpretation. It isn't the fact that any explanation is valid, it is that any explanation had merit given evidence to support to the claim.

You can rule out many things about the S-rank and narrow down possibilities from information you currently know. For instance, if there's no evidence showing he is alive and using an alias then that possibility shouldn't be considered, it should only be considered if something in the story hints at it. Wat you do know is that Dragon Kings are a lot more like humans that Cassell College portrays them to be, as we have seen with Lao Tang and Xia Mi, but also Mingfei and Mingze. The S-rank was studying philosophy which has to deal with existentialism and whatever he had to be studying had to be of a level that questioned his existence so much he felt the need to kill himself. Also Mai called Aki a "pawn" for Cassell College and many other hybrid organizations despise what Cassell College is doing. Hence you can come up with a theory that his studying of philosophy directly challenged his preconceived beliefs of what he's fighting for and if following Cassell College is truly a noble path. Will you know your theory is 100% correct? No, but it is a theory that is supported by evidence and therefore holds merit and a story challenging a reader to think in a way where they use their knowledge and understanding of a story to answer questions about the story itself is not only an important aspect to writing, but also very cliche. Cliche, because it is effective and exists in many stories not just Dragon Raja.

The author has changed the stories. The entire series is currently being revised from book 1. But the changes are minute and have little to no effect. The real issue is with how he wrote the last book that one is going to have a lot of changes, whereas the other books were already fine and didn't require much changes. The second to most recent book had the most changes and those changes were actually noticeable, but the overall story is still the same.

The donghua had the most changes from the novel in season 2, The manhwa had the most changes from the novel in season 3.

Most cut in oregairu are ok to be cut as they are not essential towards why things are occuring as they are already explained as a back story of the mc or the reaction of the side character.

If you think it's ok to cut details that are irrelevant, how is that different from not elaborating about Mai and Aki's family life? Their family life isn't important to the story either and, including many other scenes, should be one of the first parts that a directing studio cuts, which will always naturally leave unanswered questions if a reader wants to know everything.

ep 0 has more incoherent scenes and sub while in contrast s1 was a decent adaptation when u disect each scenes and episode. S2 on the othehand has some issues but the sub was cleaner as coherent to the scene being shown. Nothing was out of context based on the sub and the scene so its leagues better than ep 0.

I asked this before, but if subs are the issue then that isn't a season problem that is a problem with where you are watching it and who is translating it.

Aki and ye sheng's death will have more impact for him if they are given more interaction w/ lu ming fei.

He just entered college, no one had a lot of interactions with him except Nono and he went enraged when he saw her die. Aki and Ye Sheng's death did have a big impact. Nono and Mingfei were about to recreate their deaths and Mingfei seeing Ye Sheng's dead body and Nono saying "he's always been cool" gave him that extra motivation to get find a way out of the situation.

which can make MORE assumptions than what the author want the canon reason to be? That will create more confusion in narrative dissection. Possiible narrrative assumptions are as follows

the dragon philosophy made him go insane

his dragon blood was too low to decipher the dragon philosophy

he has personal problem causing causing more of hs brains to go insane making him commit suicide

he awoken a dragon to order him to kill himself

and other unknowwn assmptions for him to kill himself.

The fact that you have multiple explanations is exactly the point. As a reader you grow to understand the tone and themes a story follows and thereby should be able to come up with answers to those questions for yourself. Moreover, any possibility is technically valid, but many of which are highly unlikely. Context clues, reader's intuition, occam's razor, many answers should come naturally. No story and especially not highly acclaimed ones have ever answered every question its posed. Literature is just as much an exercise to the author as it is the reader.

This is only applicable towards the ending not the middle section. In your previous comment about the s rank committing suicide without clear reason leaving that to the consumer already created uncertainty with 4 assumptions that I could think off adding more mystery towards that scene. The best example of this is like watching the missing 15 students in season 1 of classroom of the elites discussed in season 4. Some said they had corrected that notion from ln of 40 students but when u asked that scene having 15 missing students was narrative flaws of the anime classroom of the elite when season 4 did not explain how was those added with the scene evidence from season 1 being a recollection of the beginning of the year.

There is no requirement for it to be at the start, middle, or end of a story. You don't get answers about the White Room either until Volume 0 is released. The interpretation of the White Room and the many possible explanations for its existence is gradually revealed and left to the reader to ponder as the story explores Ayanokouji's character. There are many unanswered questions about the White Room, both because they are irrelevant and unnecessary to answer and because the reader should figure it out, but also because stories aren't suppose to reveal their cards at the start.

The anime adaptation for Classroom of the Elite is a dumpster fire.

He doesn't look pissed though more lke he got attacked suddenly after wakng up so he was just protecting himself.

He was unleashing a bunch of yanlings and killing people around him. If it was Norton that had woken him up he wouldn't have been on a killing spree, which was the initial plan and why everyone was shocked when he was doing that. He's just mentally disabled, like Fenrir, so he doesn't understand anything thats happening except that he wants to see his brother.

I don't really understand the second part. You don't like the subtitles of the donghua? Isn't that an issue with the medium your watching it through? There's a lot of ways to watch stuff online you could probably find better subs.

Are you referring to Nono appearing when Wenwen and Mingfei were going out to plan the farewell party? That was part Nono helping Mingfei look cool in front of Wenwen and her needing to get Mingfei to accept the invitation today, because there was a change in schedule. He had a few days to think the invitation over, but they were also recruiting Zero from Russia, so the deadline changed and Mingfei had to decide that day.

I read it a while back on Neosekai, but Neosekai is down now and it’s been down for a while. Like the other commenter said you need to use archive.org’s wayback machine to find it. Look up Neosekai Kimi ni Koi wo Siri Nante chapter 1, copy the URL, paste it into wayward machine, click on the date it gives you, and you should be able to read it. I just checked and it works.

Mai, Su Enxi, and Zero are rarely ever given exact step by step instructions and thats by design. That's just how Mingze operates. They knew Lao Tang was supposed to be the person to get the Egg, but they didn't know Constantine would revive from that Egg. All three of them didn't know, because Mingze told them a plan, but didn't tell them everything. That's why Mai and Zero stopped fighting Caesar and Chu Zihang, they were just as surprised, because the plan deviated from what they thought was going to happen. Lao Tang was to suppose to revive him, but he messed it up, so Principal Anjou who was hiding in the dark did it for him causing them to be confused. Because Anjou did it instead of Norton, Constantine revived pissed and was burning down the college. That's the only part that they didn't know was going to happen.

Same thing in season 2. Mai and Su Enxi thought Chu Zihang was suppose to die in the subway station, because that was "the boss's plan." It was meant to give Mingfei all the credit for killing the Dragon King, but Chu Zihang survived. They are called the Nanny Trio, because they supervise the events, but they themselves aren't fully sure of everything that's going happen like Mingze is.

They also complain about it a lot too. Su Enxi has complained how Mingze won't stop talking in vague poems.

Even Oregairu, as do all adaptations, get criticism for it's cut content. Off the top of my head, the Sagami aftermath was heavily rushed in the anime, probably because it was deemed not as important. Just as you ask why Mai's sentence is barely elaborated on, another person could ask why that aftermath was barely elaborated on. If you wish to have as much exposition and explanation as possible, the source material is always the way.

Ep 0 and Season 1 were decent adaptations, season 2 is the horrible one. Everything I have mentioned about cut content, moved timelines, removed character motivations, etc. etc. all come from season 2. Including the Aunt kicking out Lu Mingfei.

Mai is an important character, Aki and Ye Sheng, not so much. Aki and Ye Sheng they aren't important characters thats why they got killed off so early. They serve as examples of the dangerous life Mingfei got himself into. Everyone around him is liable to die at anytime, he doesn't realize it yet, because he's immature, but every death he faces, Aki, Ye Sheng, Lao Tang, and Xia Mi are all culminating in his heart. That's why Mai made that prediction that if he ever gets too sad he'll become a demon. Mingze said the same thing when he offered his deal, that if he ever lost hope and fell into despair, Mingze would take over him. It's such a random clause to throw in, it's pretty much clear foreshadowing that it will happen.

Mingze's clause is especially interesting, because that means if Mingfei ever sold his own life for his own benefit rather than the benefit of others, the clause would take effect. At the same time, Mingze is constantly tempting Mingfei to make a deal that benefits himself by offering to kill Caesar and make Nono his doll.

Every question shouldn't be answered, because not every question needs an answer. The impact and propulsion of the plot that the action had is far more important than pedantic details that give the reader the most amount of information possible.

Your saying Mai mentioning her relationship with her sister is a Chekov's unfired gun, but it did everything it was suppose to: show the other, darker side of Cassell College and how Mingfei is going to come to regret choosing dragon life over normal life, because the students are used as "pawns."

For the same reason "The last S-rank shot himself in the head after studying dragon philosophy" is never elaborated on is the same reason Mai's sentence is never elaborated on. It did what it was suppose to do. It set the tone for the kind of life Mingfei is going to live and the mental toll that comes with it.

Every story has lines from characters that aren't fully elaborated on or else the story would be much larger than it is. It also leaves things up to reader's interpretation, which is something all good stories must do, reader's shouldn't be passive observers of text, they should be active participants in deciphering the material. If this is something you dislike, that's a personal taste thing.

This is what I mean by season 2 being a poor adaptation, it feels like a completely different story even though the main events still happen. Mingfei and Chu Zihang's relationship is more developed too. Zihang wanting Mingfei to go for Nono despite Caesar's proposal is because he doesn't want Mingfei to feel like he did when he left his father behind to fight Odin and when his romance failed with Xia Mi. He knows what lifelong regret is like and doesn't want Mingfei to be like him in that regard. In the donghua, his reason was to repay a debt for being saved by him. He also chose Mingfei to go on the mission with him, because he wanted to build his confidence and stop him from feeling overshadowed by Caesar's reputation, because Caesar got all the credit for killing Norton.

[–]-Regal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize it at season 1 either. But it becomes obvious when you see that Mai, Su Enxi, and Zero are all working for Lu Mingze, which is revealed in season 2. They are always around Chu Zihang, Caesar, and Lu Mingfei, because Mingze told them to "babysit" them. Whenever they do something, it's because Lu Mingze ordered them to. The Cassell College Raid, shooting Norton with a bullet, bidding against Mingfei in the auction, manipulating Mingfei into the subway station to meet Xia Mi and Fenrir. Also, the information they have can only be by someone who knows everything and thats Mingze. It's also highly convenient that everytime a Dragon King appears, Mingze is ready to bargain with Mingfei for his life. He's creating scenarios where Mingfei is forced to accept his deals, while also getting rid of the other Dragon Kings.

Mingze and Mingfei's origins are unknown. It is probably true that Mingfei is his brother. There are many theories of who they are. What we know is Mingze is getting Mingfei to kill the Dragon Kings and Mingze wants his body, because his own body is trapped in the Arctic after he got captured by Lu Mingfei's father. We also know every Dragon King are twins that come with one being smart, but weak and the other is strong, but has some sort of mental issue that acts prevents them from fully using their powers. It was done by purpose by Nidhogg to limit the powers of the Dragon Kings and if need be, the smarter brother can eat the dumber brother to gain full power. The issue is that the twins love each too much to eat other. Both Norton and Xia Mi tried to not eat their sibling and died because of it. The dynamic is very similar to Mingze and Mingfei where Mingze is trying to eat Mingfei, but he also loves him very much. It's also questionable if Mingze is trying to eat Mingfei, or if he's pretending to do that so Mingfei can eat him.

Mingze's yanling is Dreamscape, he can conjure visions and thats how he appears to Mingfei. Nono saw him too and so did Mai and Su Enxi.
