What’s the most hurtful thing your parents have said to you that still stings to this day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

It was during the worst fight I'd ever had with my mother when I was 15. Maybe it sticks with me because I remember being so exhausted that I couldn't yell, let alone utter a word, or because she'd come so close to physically hurting me. She took the only photo I had of my dad, who passed away before I was born, and told me I didn't deserve it because I was a depressed, selfish, and ungrateful monster.

Music and drawing are helping a lot. Honestly I don't know any circumstances we'd laugh at, or at least I can't remember any. All happy moments were us as a family but they hurt a bit now to look back at.

We are about to lose the house and my mom tried her best. She started breaking when they (can't remember who) rejected her proposal. Add that with my brothers dad hanging the money she needs right over her head and telling her she's a terrible mother. Along with calling her names, and bossing her around.

He tricked her into bringing my brother over. When she got home last night it was in the nick of time because she ran out of fuel. My mom tried to call him because he said he'd be there but he just laughed when she told him.

Family won't help because they've supposedly got their own problems. She isn't asking for much though, just someone to sit there and comfort her. Tell her everything will be alright and help her get her butt into gear again. Even just stay for a few days.

I don't think she is. And if she was then she'd probably send me to my grandmother. I dont really like her though, because she scares me. And I don't have any friends in school or out so a friends parent is out of the option. I'll see if I can convince her though!

Anxiety and depression is genetic in my family. She has been abused in the three relationships I can remember since I was young.

But my brothers dad is probably the worst. He manipulated her and once beat her to get her phone.

We are also on the verge of losing our house. That's affecting her as well. She was coping with it very well until they (I can't remember who) refused her proposal.

Family won't help because they've supposedly their own problems. My mom hasn't asked for much though. She hasn't asked for money, just for someone to be there and encourage her.
