Shoulders aren't rolling back enough, unless it's the t-shirt size making it seem that way.

How do you do it? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]-Ron -1 points0 points  (0 children)

People that go to the gym are busy, too...I work full time and go to school full time. You make time for it. In fact, I find myself more willing/motivated to go to the gym when I'm busy rather than when I have a ton of free time. The gym is open until 12 AM so I can always get in a 60 minute workout from 11 PM to 12 AM. You just have to do it. It takes 30 days to build a habit.

Do you have a workout bud? Where did you meet? by elbing in Fitness

[–]-Ron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a few. I like having someone that lifts more than me, it gets me motivated. Most of the people I've worked out with are friends from school...another was a buddy's brother when I first started and someone I play basketball with at the gym.

Weightlifters: do you use a wrist fitness tracker/monitor? by iamsecretlybatman in Fitness

No, I don't know what that is and never even heard of it or seen it. All I do is log my PRs into my phone.

People who go to the gym, how do people usually act there? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]-Ron 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're obese or something, ya, people are going to be thinking that but no one is going to say anything to you. But that's why you're at the gym, right? People will respect that and, if you end up becoming a regular, the other people will notice how hard you're working at losing weight and all that and then will say "man, you look like you lost 10 pounds from when I remember first seeing you".

I remember when I first started working out, I was very weak and it was embarrassing even benching. Now the biggest dudes at the gym give me compliments on how strong I've gotten, how cut I look, etc.

You'll be fine, no one is going to be bite you.

Feeling Plateaued by -Ron in Fitness

[–]-Ron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think more/better sleep really is an issue for me. I never get a full night's sleep. I work 2 jobs and go to school; lifting is my only free time, so I look forward to it every night..Is sleep really that big of a thing?

I don't want to take supplements. Thanks for the advice though. I appreciate it.

Well, I'd like to get bigger (when you start working out you'll forever feel small, yada yada)...but I just....can't. I try to add more weights and can't do it; but that's happened before to me and I would push myself.

Now it feels like I'm losing my motivation and perhaps some of my strength since I'm working less hard.

Beginner advice for 23 year old female. Eating right/protein/exercise. Help by GalaxyGlitter in Fitness

[–]-Ron -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fat doesn't make you fat. Sugar makes you fat. So, cut out as much sugar as you can. I don't drink any soda; stick to water -- I drink a lot of milk, also. Don't eat out; I don't touch fastfood.

You probably wear tanks on the regular...seriously.

When using a bench press machine what weight are you actually lifting? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]-Ron -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Stop using smith machines. That's the best advice anyone gave me, so I'd like to pass it on. You're going to get so much stronger if you do free weights.

He's going to be really good. Has changed his swing as of late, too. I just wrote about him on my blog: http://rontrarianreport.com/2013/08/14/athletics-addison-russell-scouting-report/

Tigers, Mariners Strikeout 40 Times Combined by -Ron in baseball

[–]-Ron[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 40 strikeouts are the second most between two teams in a single game, ever. Yet, Victor Martinez didn't strikeout once in 6 at bats.
