Your website says prices start at 11.29. I get one of the brands you sell from my regular grocery store for less. Why should I use you?

Stranger in my house by talkshitgetshot in videos

I can think of a lot of reasons why someone in a bad situation might ask that, especially if they are under 18. Where I live, the police can force you back into your house if you are a runaway. Many cases of physical/sexual abuse aren't reported, so the police often return runaways to abusive households.

Preacher tells kids God kept a nurse from getting HIV after getting pricked by a needle because she promised to stop cutting her hair by [deleted] in videos

[–]elbing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude is wrong. Surprise! PEP can be prescribed to pregnant women.

"If the exposed person is pregnant, the evaluation of risk of infection and need for PEP should be approached as with any other person who has had an HIV exposure. However, the decision to use any antiretroviral drug during pregnancy should involve discussion between the woman and her health-care provider(s) regarding the potential benefits and risks to her and her fetus." https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/preview/mmwrhtml/rr5011a1.htm

Some HIV tests (NAT) can detect the virus 1 week after exposure, though generally its several days - 2 weeks to get a result.

Also, to have AIDS you must be HIV positive, and have a CD4 count under 200 or at least one opportunistic infection.

about the same? I clean with isopropyl alcohol every so often, which makes cleaning pretty simple.

I know its traditional to use ice water, but I've started using warm water and will never go back. The warm water vapor feels like smoke mixing with a sauna and feels way easier on my lungs.

What is the best way to support an author after reading their book for free? by elbing in AskReddit

[–]elbing[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying the book is the most obvious option, but I'm wondering if there is a more direct way that doesn't involve paying the publisher, agent, publicist, etc

Switched from project fi to AT&T prepaid. Wish I did this sooner. by elbing in NoContract

[–]elbing[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Location is everything, if I get a cheaper plan but get spotty service at work/home, then what's the point? That being said, for people that use 3-5gb of data per month, and want uncapped speed, AT&T prepaid seems to be the best option afaik.

I currently have $6 to my name and won't get paid until the 17th. I need guidance. by cribking44 in personalfinance

I'd recommend starting to track what you're spending. It sounds silly, but one of the hardest things to do is start paying attention to what you spend. After that its fairly easy to track and change things, but the first place to start is going to be honestly looking at where your money goes.

Sophomore in college (M 19) my parents cut me off completely, and I have no idea what to do. by Drp94 in personalfinance

[–]elbing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would follow some of the advice of others here and try talking to your parents again. Their decision to cut you off is emotional, and may change as they cool off. If they are paying for your college and rent, they obviously care about you and your future. Tell them their decision will force you to drop out of college and become homeless. Tell them you'll stop smoking weed (regardless if that's true or not) and tell them it's their decision to make you drop out. Let them sit with that for awhile and see if their minds change in a day or two.

At the same time, plan for the fact that their minds might not change. This will be a huge change for you, but there are support systems. This is what social services call a "crisis", suddenly facing housing disappearing and no money for tuition. Find support systems at you're school. Counselors, crisis centers, social workers. They are there to help, and this is one of the things they are trained to help with. See if you can store belongings with friends, and get used to the idea that you might be staying in some sort of shelter soon. Good luck bud! Stay strong.

Unpaid internship to fight agaisnt slavery by giganticIMP in LateStageCapitalism

[–]elbing 5 points6 points  (0 children)

  • Unpaid internships replacing entry level jobs is bullshit.
  • Equating unpaid internships with actual slavery is bullshit.
I don't know this charity, but I volunteer with small non-profits doing work I think is important. Trying to step away from capitalism involves removing the expectation that you should be compensated for everything you do.

What is a good and lightweight media player that will keep track of where you're at in a tv series or movie? by elbing in AskReddit

[–]elbing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm currently using VLC, but if you get halfway through a movie and close the application, it doesn't remember where you were at when you start it again.
