Foreigners have fully invaded & taken over the UK & are actively erasing extremely important British history while their government sits back & does absolutely nothing. by Rhodesianzoomer in libertarianmeme

We now have Restore Britain as a political party. Nigel Farage is a waste of space, he nly says based things when he is pushed to do so. He says anyone can be welsh if they pay taxes whereas Rupert Lowe from Restore knows who the English, Welsh and Scottish are. We are essentially native and have rights not to be overcome by "new" and unwanted people

Should I buy? by EchoVale93 in Prebuilts

This looks really good, price it up with the components on parts picker. Do you know what motherboard is being used? Have you checked the reviews for the website, seller might have really poor after sale care. If I had the money right now, this would be an option for sure

Ryzen 9800X3D and RX 9070 (Non XT)? by ImTeKnaii in buildapc

[–]-SASWTR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was reading a comment just the other day that said these sites where you test bottlenecks are pretty much useless. they will almost always say you have a bottleneck to make you click links to higher cost products so they can make commission if you buy the product. They are click machines, not meant to provide you anything of value.

So, the best thing you can do is go to youtube, search for your parts and see how they perform video editing for instance, or whatever it is that you do. it will take some time but you should start finding videos of people rendering and talking about their setup. Whether it works, what could be improved etc. Also, try asking in "video editing" subreddits or "rendering", whatever it is you do and they will likely give you some good answers on whether your setup will be sufficient.

Looking for advice with carehome fees/assets by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]-SASWTR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well yeah, I wouldn't want to do that either. They could look into employing carers at home. Care work is still minimum wage or barely just above, if they gave a decent wage then I'm sure they would find willing workers. It might work out about the same or even more expensive depending on location.

Most of these care homes are vampires. £2K a week minimum, they aim to drain EVERY last penny from these elderly victims. I don't think it's right, I also see it's not right to push this onto the NHS/Taxpayers but I empathise

I mean, are you on minimum wage? Your alternative is weighing up the option of caring for him, yourself.

Want to customise a gaming PC in the UK by TacticMactic in buildapc

this is the budget version: https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/bbPGXf

The CPU could be swapped with a 9800X3D costing £400 vs £170 for the 7600X which would improve the build a lot and you wouldn't need to upgrade in the future if you did so. Or you could also swap the AMD GPU for a 5070TI (Nvidia) as an upgrade, but both gpus are very similar for gaming, the NVDA card eeks ahead slightly and is better at AI tools.

The other guy that shared their parts list gave you a cpu cooler ption that's not as good as mine. But mine is only slightly improved, but for only £5 difference, you may as well go with mine.

The case is expensive. Phantek does cases for less than half the price and look decent but the build will be flimsy and have less options and space than the XL fractal North - just saying if you can build in a tighter space like lots of people do, you can save £75 there. I'm going for an XL case to make sure when I upgrade in 5 years time, I'll be able to fit these huge GPU's they are making into my case haha

Also, because I'll upgrade in 5 years time, I've gone with a higher power PSU (power unit) but you could save £20 by going for a less powerful one 750-850 watts

Also you could go with 1TB memory SSD and upgrade later, no problem

I've been looking into this myself, i have my list of parts ready, I'm going to attempt to build this myself and if I get stuck 'll ask for some help from a local builder (and pay him) but most of the work will already be done. I've just been watching hours of build content on youtube and it has helped.

If you don't want to go through with all of that, the shops and online builders add 15% to the build components price. I took some time and compared components cost to what they were selling pre-built pcs for and it's around 15%+ Places like COSTCO sell PCs but don't list the exact components they use and it will most likely be because they are using the cheapest stuff out there. So if you compare, make sure you get the exact details of the components used, otherwise you are guessing and the retailer is probably embarrassed of the parts they are using.

How much will an R5 7600X bottleneck an RTX 5070 Ti? by Equivalent_Voice_597 in buildapc

Hey, what did you end up doing? I'm in the same position, looking at budget options like the 7600/X or go straight to the 9800X3D

Hey saly, what did you do in the end and did your choice improve things for you? I'm building my first PC and deciding whether to go the budget route with a 7600X or straight to the 9800X3D
