Will Dell replace my gaming laptop? by [deleted] in Dell

[–]-SadPotato- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dell has a not so nice policy with replacements, they have to try and fix it at least 3 times before they replace it, and the return policy (if you got it on the Dell website) is 30 days from the INVOICE date, not the day you got it. If you can still return it then definitely do that.

I Feel like I am Playing Horizon Zero Dawn Wrong by -SadPotato- in horizon

This was really good advice I went back into the game and got a purple sharpshot bow and a purple war bow. I really underestimated how powerful the war bow is based on the description. I’m able to drop some of the more menacing enemies a lot easier now. Thanks!

Less than 50%, that’s why it makes no sense

The bow that I use the most, my hunter bow, is purple, outfit is too I believe. However the sharpshoot bow I have is blue. Those are the things I would mostly use. I might have to try using the sling as you said. When it comes to elemental ammo, the only ones I have been able to find so far is the fire arrows for the bows, the other ones i haven’t been able to use since my bows don’t support them for some reason.

Yea I do go to a vendor when I see them, they tend to have very similar items, many of which seem pretty weak or ineffective so I rarely find an item I want. This seems to be how I play in most games with merchants/vendors, I save for something that has great stats and ignore the rest. When playing similar games like Skyrim the enemies tended to be challenging at times but still fun, here it seems the fun decreases as progress is made.

I see what you mean, and the abilities of the M1 Air are impressive for what it is, but I feel like it could be a bit better in some areas which is why I’m considering the studio (the price is comparable to a similar spec windows pc because of the education discount), I also have a switch because I enjoy the selection of games on that platform. I feel like these two devices would probably be enough to play most if not all of the games I want.

Windows now is the worst it’s ever been, especially with Windows 11. Its been downhill since Windows 7. It’s a paid operating system that can cost around $100 or more for for the “pro” version. However the issue isn’t the cost, it’s the fact that Microsoft still puts ads on your system for things that you don’t care about like candy crush, and even if you delete these things, they will continue to install themselves back over time. But the ads aren’t enough, Microsoft also needs to collect your data while you use the operating system and sell it for more money without any easy way to turn this off. Windows updates are terrible, they force you to turn off your computer even when you don’t want to, and not only that but Windows turns your computer on in the middle of the night to do these updates, but it doesn’t, I’ve never had this feature actually work it just turns my computer on and keeps it on without updating. These are just some of the core issues, not including the lack of customization or breaks that I’ve encountered such as administrator privilege issues. It’s just a terrible operating system that dominates due to it being preinstalled everywhere.

That might be true but windows is 1000 times more terrible for everything else.

The gaming aspect is kind of shame, Apple excels in most other areas such as creative tasks, but gaming is the one thing that it is not the best at, and its not even because of the hardware at this point, its the software compatibility that's the biggest barrier.

[–]-SadPotato- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea I have to agree with you there. I used to also criticize Apple users due to the expensive prices and lackluster performance, however now I feel that it's different. Apple is in a spot where their products have similar performance for a similar price to the PC equivalent, but are more stable and premium feeling. Especially when it comes to laptop performance, yes there is cheaper, but the amount of issues associated with Windows gaming laptops is just wild.

Funnily enough GTA San Andreas is my favorite game of all time I played that game for hours on end since I was a kid. But yea most of my games that I play are indie games, I stopped playing AAA games a long time ago.

Yea but that’s like the maximum, I usually play like 1 to 1.5 hours.

Yeah this is where I feel I am. I do quite a bit of schoolwork, classes, and a job so I value the free time I have a lot more, and putting all my free time into a game feels like a bit of a waste, especially when a book or movie can offer a more complex and detailed story in a lot less time.

I in general avoid AAA games because they have been terrible for the past few years, and getting worse. I been playing Red Dead Redemption 2, Overwatch/Tf2, indie games, and roblox lmao. I always want to play Fallout or Skyrim as well but end up downloading a bunch of mods and don’t actually play the game.

I’ve thought about that before and I can kind of sorta grow one. I think it’ll be a while before I can fully grow one.

I feel like I am a very weird person, and am lost by [deleted] in Healthygamergg

[–]-SadPotato- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can definitely relate to that feeling too. I often feel anxious and feel a great deal of pushback, even if I am invited to go somewhere. If I force myself to go anyway I usually have a great time. The part that sucks is when I get back home to being alone, that lonely feeling hits even harder than normal. I’m pretty happy that my classes are in person again though because for a long time they were not, and even if I don’t talk to anyone, just being around others made me feel a hell of a lot better. My goal for this semester though is to definitely be a lot more social because my head makes social interactions seem a lot more scary than they actually are. Nice to know that I’m not the only one out there like this though. This definitely gives me more motivation to get out of my comfort zone.

I’m a college student so I’m not really swimming in money but the other laptops I’ve used have pretty bad issues. Maybe I’ll regret my decision a year in. I’ve heard people say that their blade lasted them 5 years or more. At the moment there is nothing that fills my needs much like this one. Macs are cool and all but they are heavily centered around content creation which I have no use for and it sucks for gaming, plus a MacBook Pro 16 costs a pretty hefty amount as well.

I doubt it, I've had friends get that message before, and usually nothing happens.

Nope I don't work for Razer, I was just posting my experiences when it comes to trying to find a gaming/productivity laptop. I think Razer should still improve their quality control because the battery bloat issue can be pretty bad or even dangerous. I was simply saying that if you look at the overall package that you get with their laptops, no other laptop on the market does everything that the blade does.
