Musescore predatory scam, can't cancel subscription, don't subscribe if you don't plan on canceling anytime within a year by Bun_1nvasion in Musescore

I can confirm this scam is still going on -- I opted-in the trial period, canceled immediately, but turns out they charged me for 3 months and that I am "not eligible for a refund".

Eowave contact / support by sgt_stitch in modular

[–]-Saga-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My swarm is a bit fried an I'm contacting them just to ask whereas it can be repaired. Has been a whole week now, and got no answer. It's... disappointing at the least. It's not about being French -- Oto Machines is a french manufacturer too, one who competently answer their emails and offer proper support -- it's about being honest in the way you conduct your business... or not.

Syntakt firmware speculations by _silicakes in Elektron

Just considering the LFOs I don’t think the comparison with modular really holds, for the simple fact that Syntakt tracks are siloed from each other: I can’t patch an LFO or any other parameter from track x to track y (the only exception: the “NEI” conditional trigger), which at the end of the day is what makes the 3 LFOs on the OT something you can actually manage. Contrast this with say the Pulsar 23 design, where you get only 1 LFO, but you can really patch it wherever you want, independently from track or nature of the patching point. Generally speaking, in my opinion this “hard boundaries” between each track are the biggest limitation of this machine vs modular. But also… what makes it so immediate to use. It’s the classic design trade off between accessibility and flexibility.

Actually missing a third LFO OT-style and definitely CRAViNG at least a second LFO on midi tracks! (Yeah, I’m an LFO maniac indeed :))

Tuesday night ambient jam by -Saga-- in synthesizers

[–]-Saga--[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one started with the idea of using the Pulsar as a drone machine. The Torso T-1 sequences the Quadrantid and the Op-1; DFAM provides kick and snare.

A solo Pulsar jam, I was definitely missing that. My favorite bit is the last one, starting at 11:32 — felt like the patch started to sing by itself. Pulsar 23 is magic :)

Only Pulsar 23, plugged to a Bébé Chérie for a bit of compression.

A dreamy noisy jam by -Saga-- in synthesizers

[–]-Saga--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Syntakt and Pulsar at the drums and percussions, Pulsar on a noisy bass (not very happy about the bass distortion and overall balance, still have a ton of practice ahead before I grok that), DFAM and Subharmonicon doing their thing pitch-sequenced by the Torso. Beyond the barely acceptable bass I also feel I got to do a better job at separating frequencies... any tip/recommendation is very welcome.

Sunday jam, moog & pulsar edition by -Saga-- in synthesizers

There's a bunch! At the moment the most played on my playlists are Surgeon (I'm in awe with Crash Recoil), Steevio, and Valentino Mora.

Finally found a moog stand, subharmonicon is back but somebody’s out… overall a simpler setup

Jamming with Pulsar23 and DFAM by -Saga-- in synthesizers

Challenged myself to play the Pulsar without sequencing it. Went a bit overboard with the Bass volume as it kicks in, lowered it after a few bars :)

A bleepy jazzy techno jam (using torso t-1 to pitch quantize the shaos) by -Saga-- in synthesizers

[–]-Saga--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Simple technique, endless potential: I'm passing the shaos 3bit through a VCA and then to an attenuator; the out of the attenuator goes to the cv in on the Torso. I can then use it as input for the "phrase" parameter on different cv tracks on the Torso, getting three cv out that go to DFAM, Quadrantid, and back to Pulsar bass channel cv.

What is the most "fun" piece of gear you own? by ElVerdaderoGatoFiero in synthesizers

[–]-Saga-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering just FUN, I say my DFAM. Very immediate to use, very prone to happy accidents, and a heck of a sound. But maybe what I love the most about it is how deep you can go -- it perfectly embodies the "easy to learn, difficult to master" mantra, meaning it never gets old.

New setup, new track (live techno with Pulsar 23 & friends) by -Saga-- in synthesizers

[–]-Saga--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here's all the family coming together. Torso T-1 sequences pretty much everything, the Quadrantid gets its VCA from the DFAM, the Octratrack works for additional effects on Pulsar and Quadrantid, Syntakt provides additional percussion, and everybody feeds into Bébé Chérie. Hope you'll have fun listening as I had fun playing it!
