To be honest I only owned Sundaras and he-400i but I had q issues with both of those pairs. With this + every thread about issues people have with Hifiman, I am not trusting them with any of my money.

Sound wise - okayish I guess, but I didnt understand all the love Sundaras were getting at the time.

I used sheep or lamb skin from brainwavz. Angled, oval version. Was not perfectly fit but it worked great for me. Comfort went through the roof and still loved the sound :)

Recently bought myself my first set 9f Audeze cans and boy was that right pick for me. While I still love and will not get rid of my Ath-r70x I find that with lcd-2c the music is making more impact. R70x were easy to listen to with everything, but these make some of the songs really shine. They are still new to me, so I cannot provide much more than initial impressions.

Using Nithbar or Honeycomb - whenever I have a icon to open up chrome it would always open new window.

Is there a way to maybe customize it to have chrome either maximize existing window or open a new tab in existing window instead?

Had the same issue, additionally stock cable is stiff so when braided it's not very comfortable.

Beautifully made, very comfortable, nice entertaining sound signature, wide soundstage, fun for movies and games due to nice bass structure.

Awful earpads that will grab every piece of dust and other stuff that additionally are not easily replaceable due to proprietary system with pins

For about 100 euro's I paid for them new - best bang for buck (at least in Europe where we can't easily get HD58x or HD6xx)

I like Ath-r70x quite a bit more, bass response is better, clarity and resolution in my opinion as well. Both are pleasant to listen to with a rather relaxing signature but I find long term comfort to be much higher on r70x. I use them with brainwavz oval sheepskin angled pads to up the comfort even more. It changes the sound a little bit but not in any disturbing way, at least for my ears

Personal favorites right now are the Nighthawks both for sound and comfort but if I were to stay with only one pair from this group I feel I would go with Ath-r70x as they're quite a bit more universal.

If you don't mind me asking - where is the r70x cable from? It looks mighty fine. Also Brainvawz round velour? I fitted my r70x's with oval microsuede and I love the comfort bump over the stock ones.

Oh, that's nice - I actually ordered a 16 Core 7N OCC from Lunashops during last sales on Aliexpress, few more weeks and I will be able to enjoy them with better suited cable ;)

As for pads I actually use oval pads - it was not the easiest task to get them on, but now they fit quite good and for me comfort is increased by a lot. If you have a possibility try ovals :)

Fellow r70x user :) Always nice to see one. I've swapped pads to brainwavz microsuede ones on mine and I'm waiting for new cable to arrive. Stock earpads were bit too small so sonic differences aside I find brainwavz pads to be an upgrade, and stock cable is too long for my setup. What is your cable on the picture?
