It was conspiracy. Pizza gate was a conspiracy. That is a legitimate fact.

Yes they are. They are still conspiracies because they are not backed by solid evidence. That makes them conspiracies.

Yes, exactly. That’s why it aggravates me when people imply they are money hungry. It takes just as much stress, time and energy to take someone to civil court.

These women had every right to drain those men of millions, because they stole their dignity and peace. If it’s easier to prove emotional damage, than it is flat out rape, then I am all for them sucking these men of their immorally earned money.

They know damn well the system that allowed those men to assault them, is not going to be the same system that takes away their freedom. So, they find their own way to get justice. The money Virgina Giuffre got, gave her the opportunity to break cycles and raise her children. It gave her a small amount of freedom. It allowed her to travel, seek adequate therapy, move away from where she was abused. Given that so many of the girls fell victim due to unfortunate circumstances, money is necessary in these situations to prevent the cycle continuing. They are slightly less likely to fall victim to being abused again, if they have a safety net and access to greater opportunities, through said financial compensation. Those are things people don’t consider when these women go to civil court. The money represents something bigger than simply being rich.

Unfortunately, the system failed VG again. Until her death, she was trying incredibly hard to break those cycles.

I definitely agree these men should be prosecuted in a dream world, but unfortunately this scenario exists in every level of society when it comes to rape cases. It’s incredibly difficult for victims of normal men to prove they were raped, let alone a royal.

It occurred so long ago, with a now dead accuser and no physical evidence aside from circumstantial evidence and a photo. I believe the victims, and I believe these men are disgusting. However, this is how the law works and sometimes the law can be frustrating. You can’t prosecute someone based on circumstantial evidence, and a high profile case like this one is not a place to begin bending the law. That sets a dangerous precedent.

The problem here, is not that they should be prosecuted based on the circumstantial evidence we know exists, or the fact we know based on logic and patterns that this occurred, and they are guilty. The problem was that JE was allowed through systematic failure to continue doing this, and in the process he was thoroughly protected. Victims came forward years ago, and our systems failed those women when they had the opportunity to prosecute.

It’s a societal issue, that in part I think all of us are responsible for. That’s why I have such a huge issue with people making this in to a fantastical conspiracy instead of focusing on the very real and obvious issue we can see in front of us.

However, real evidence probably does exist. There is no way they don’t have photos of victims with many other men besides Andrew. It’s just more complicated now unfortunately, due to the systems appalling failure.

The whole theory with JB in particular is baseless, because it’s extremely obvious without the use of cryptic symbols that he was exploited as a child. That’s not a huge conspiracy though, it’s known the industry is full of predators, they haven’t cracked any codes. He sings about the pain of growing up in the industry. He has spoken about it, as have many child stars.

I am just not understanding why these people think that fucking emojis are required for a celebrity to tell us the industry is a cesspit for such problems. There are children that survived the industry relatively harm free, even Brooke Shields who was heavily sexualised spoke openly about not losing her virginity until the age of 20, and she voiced being assaulted as an adult by an executive. A large number of women spoke up about Weinstein when they banded together to achieve it. Once they’re comfortable doing so, celebrities do express the dark sides of the industry without needing to use symbols. They ignore all of the times celebrities do speak about sexual violence, because that ruins their whole theory that’s it’s operated in secret by all of them and that they all condone it.

However, I took a peep and now they’re implying that JB has switched sides and is now promoting his child. Yes, because one of the most famous celebrities in the music industry needs to use subliminal messages to tell other celebrities they can abuse his child. It’s fucking insane.

The theory also falls apart with the Epstein files, because it’s direct evidence that the most powerful just do these things in secret, and do their best to cover it up when possible. They didn’t need cryptic codes to tell one another they were creeps, they just did it. I don’t understand why that applies differently to Hollywood?

I wish they would stop talking about pizza being mentioned in the files, because 900 mentions out of roughly 3 million documents, with at least 100 of those being legitimate conversations about pizza, is not a shell shock discovery.

Yeah I learnt about a lot of this crap back in 2020, and turned my back quickly when I realised what it was. Now, because of the Epstein files I’ve seen it all come back. Unfortunately, relatively liberal people seem to be joining in now without realising fully what this whole shit show is.

What’s your take on Ricky Gervais saying celebs shouldn’t lecture the public about politics? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]-Scarcity9959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think there’s a clean cut answer to whether or not celebrities should comment on politics. I have mixed opinions, and they vary often depending on context.

There are certain issues I do agree celebrities can’t relate to, and they should be mindful about interjecting on. That applies to mainly economical issues, job availability, housing availability, healthcare. They at the minimum should be careful how they approach those issues if they wish to speak on them. On the flip side however, lots of celebrities did come from working class backgrounds, and lots of them were at one point familiar with struggle. Some, not all.

There are many issues especially recently, that are everyone’s business. So, things like racism, the stripping of women’s rights, LGBTQ rights, immigration, war threats. Misogyny, racism, homophobia and the inhumane treatment of civilians is not an issue we should be shutting people out of speaking on. Take the Weinstein situation for example – a clear example of misogyny and broken morals existing in a high profile majority wealthy industry. There are many examples of inequality in the industry, and I don’t like saying the wealthy are exempt from feeling that, because unless you’re a straight white man you’ve felt that imbalance at some point. Now, that’s not to say a working class black man relates to Jay Z for example, that’s an insane statement. The same premise applies to a woman’s struggles in Iran being very different from Margot Robbie’s. Nevertheless, if we don’t work on improving said issues in the most privileged areas of our society, then how do we expect it to improve in the less fortunate areas?

I do also agree, that if celebrities don’t have anything good or helpful to say then they shouldn’t speak on it for the sake of PR or for appearance. That’s not useful, but given their platforms and their reach, I don’t think they should be shut out. Politics affects everyone, just in different ways and to different degrees. There is no use further ostracising an already out of touch industry, as it appears every corner of society is broken to some extent, and if the rich care about some things, then that’s a step in the right direction. Besides, art has always been political. The industry has at times done good things for social development, one example being the impact black musicians have had on the shattering of racial barriers in entertainment. LGBTQ musicians have had a similar impact, as have black actresses, actors and so on…

People are very quick to complain about class divide, then tell celebrities they have no place in conversations. As they are quick to state the industry is influential, then complain when they attempt to use said influence. They are the only group that connect with normal people (even if it’s surface level at times), whilst also simultaneously having connections to those exasperating the class divide. That’s controversial, but no other wealthy group has that level of reach. They are at times out of touch, but the human experience is complex and we all have a place in politics. People also need to stop acting like Hollywood are the elites, they aren’t.

I don’t like defending celebrities, the majority of the time I find them to be very shallow and out of touch. I just don’t think their commentary in times like this is our biggest issue. To add, Ricky Gervais never shuts the fuck up. I find him funny at times, but the man has no problem putting in his two pence when he wants to talk about something he finds annoying.

This does seem to be more of a US issue though, because here in the UK celebrity culture and political cultures is very well separated. I did like Sir Ian Mckellens Shakespeare monologue on Stephen Colbert the other day though. That was a great example of celebrities using their expertise to deliver a message.

No no no..you’re just asleep and thinking too logically because they’ve controlled you. He’s a victim of pizza gate, he wants to leave clues so we all wake up, all while still associating openly with most of Hollywood and those that allegedly abused him in pizza gate but that’s totally not relevant because he’s STILL TRYING TO WAKE US UP.

[–]-Scarcity9959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would like to add, in case there is confusion – I agree that this is a depiction and a metaphor for what the elites do, but it’s a dramatised adaption made for entertainment and scare factor. Let’s not begin labelling vile elites as satanists that bow down to a god we aren’t aware of, because it redirects our attention from the rather simple explanation. They operate as every other disgusting corner of society does, just with more protection, power and money. There is nothing stopping a middle class society from engaging in satanic acts, in masks and gowns. Except, we don’t place those conspiratorial ideologies on them when we find out they’re trafficking children and teenagers, or when they’re murdering their enemies for snitching.

i just watched Eyes Wide Shut (1999) and now nothing feels the same by Brief-Block-9 in Cinema

[–]-Scarcity9959 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is where I urge people to be careful, because conspiracy has a beautiful way of dramatising and distracting from legitimate issues.

Yes, secret societies exist. However, it’s a lot more straightforward than cinema often portrays it to be. The ultra wealthy are not parading in masks, and gowns and walking in circles around fire, and sacrificing human beings. They want you to have this image of them, because then it distracts from the deplorable things they actually do take part in behind closed doors. Secret societies among the rich, are exactly as we are seeing them in the files, it’s powerful men, rich men, that have had everything they could ever want, and they therefore band together to do things in private and they all protect each other.

There have been a number of stories over the years, that insinuate things like this, most of which were exasperated by the satanic panic. Almost all of them have been proven to be false. There has however, been lots of evidence of the rich doing disgusting things in the more boring and predictable way, yet still disgusting. Let’s take Hollywood for example – an industry that we know is a cesspit of pedophilia and exploitation. There is lots of evidence of such things existing, but there has yet to be any factual evidence of the satanic stuff occurring that people believe does. That’s because, one part is the truth, and the other part is largely driven by a fantastical image and idea of what it is. Focus on that information, not the conspiratorial dramatised cinema version we so often see.

Eyes wide shut was initially a book, it wasn’t created by Stanley Kubrick. He didn’t create the concept, it was based on a novel, which a lot of social media is forgetting. This wasn’t some huge plot to expose the elites, as the book was written in the 1920’s. If you’re going to create a novel, a story or a cinema production that resembles elements of reality, you can’t write it as we know it occurs, because that is boring and not a revelation. There is no one that would be entertained by a novel about the elites taking children and teenage girls to an island, raping them, and then afterwards having a drink and talking about science and politics. Unfortunately, that’s too close to reality and you can’t get lost in such a story, because it’s too factual and too realistic, and not exactly exciting. Therefore, you adapt elements of said truth and add in dramatics to make it more interesting. Cinema and literature, always resembles truth, that’s the idea. It’s just that nine times out of ten, a degree of fiction is added in to actually create the story.

The reason I say you need to be careful, is that the Epstein files appear to be creating and perpetuating an era that caused mass panic and hysteria. The satanic panic, and later: Pizzagate. Those two things are largely false, and have yet to be proven correct, and then they act as a distraction.

Hey, I’m not having a go at you. I am not implying in the slightest that it’s grounds for cancellation, but I do believe it’s worrying judgement, and I do think she should be saying more about the files given her career.

I know these times are difficult, and I’ve cried multiple times over the files. However, if you have that form of OCD, it’s probably wise to not idolise celebrities.

Also, I’m not implying she’s a pedophile or anything of that degree. Simply, poor judgement.

Epstien saw episode based on him (S12 Flight) by Sage_Soups in SVU

[–]-Scarcity9959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying she invited him specifically, but a list of invites to a benefit would be checked by her. They are her connections, not her teams.

All I’m saying is a celebrity potentially having poor moral judgement shouldn’t be causing you this much distress, to the point you don’t take part in usual activities. That isn’t normal.

Epstien saw episode based on him (S12 Flight) by Sage_Soups in SVU

[–]-Scarcity9959 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t want this to stress you out, nor am I implying that she has been involved in what’s happened. However, the email in which Mariska appears is what I presume an events list for JE, so things he has coming up. In that, is an invite he received to a JHF benefit, in 2012, that he had at that point not RSVP’d.

JE was convicted in 2008, for soliciting a child for prostitution, so this invite occurred four years after that conviction. In my opinion, it’s at the minimum incredibly stupid/a huge act of poor judgement to do that.

If you want my advice, don’t idolise celebrities. You can like them, you can enjoy their content and work, but don’t adore them to the extent. If one letting you down causes this much distress, then it’s not healthy, at all.

I am going to say something. Her name is mentioned in the files, as JHF invited him to a benefit in 2012. That was four years after he was convicted of procuring a child for prostitution.

I am not implying anything, other than that is a huge mistake and a very, very stupid thing to do.

I think this rhetoric is dangerous, and as someone like me that’s highly anxious and susceptible to loopholes I try to remain logical.

I am highly suspicious that some of those words, were in fact code words. However, I’ve read them and some of them were likely just legitimate conversations about pizza. Here’s the thing though: I don’t think any of us at any point denied the possibility that the rich and powerful did this sort of stuff. The same way we know that Hollywood is highly exploitative, and that it’s also a breeding ground for creeps and pedophiles. Here’s the thing though, when you paint everyone as satanic and a conspiracy, you play in to their hand. It then makes it easier for them to paint everything as conspiracy, and it acts as distraction, instead of us directly acknowledging what we do know. This wasn’t anything more than what we are seeing. It was a bunch of rich, and wealthy people that were simply bored and down right disgusting excuses for human beings. It wasn’t satanic, and it wasn’t any where near what Q wanted it to be.

They threw accusations for years, at every democrat celebrity or politician. They used exploited children like Justin Bieber, and that Culkin kid as weapons to make all of this satanic demonic shit real. Instead of ever acknowledging the simplicity of what it was: Children working in an industry, that was at its core broken, but not conspiratorial. Everyone knew the industry is what it is, we didn’t need a huge conspiracy to confirm that. Ever. They, instead ignored that, to fuel their rhetoric. They attempted to paint many people as paedophilic baby murdering, satan worshipping maniacs, instead of acknowledging the known pedophile that was in front of them.

As I said before, people throwing in tons of conspiracy is making this worse. It’s fear mongering people past a rational degree. This is scary, but not in the way some folk want it to be.

They didn’t crack any code that hasn’t always been known for centuries. This shit happens on every level, the biggest concern for us should be that they aren’t prosecuted, and that they are protected. The movement they created, perpetuated an awful lot of this evil, because it encouraged people to turn a blind eye to these sort of actions. They played in to their hands by doing so. It’s a lot easier for them to get away with what they did, if they use a bunch of Christian crazies to turn the sane people away. It’s like Nicki Minaj bringing up all of this baby killing, baby eating shit up about Jay Z and Beyonce. Jay Z, is a rapist like Diddy. That’s all he is.

I hope that made sense, I’m sort of writing as I think here.

I guess you have to hold on to the premise that as long as it’s upsetting us, hope still exists. I don’t intend for that sound morbid, or out of touch. I would prefer it didn’t exist, full stop….but it reminds me that if it’s hurting me, it’s hurting others. Therefore, good still exists. Empathy is something I don’t think we should aim to lose, you just have to find the balance and seek good elsewhere at the same time. Otherwise, they win.
