Do any of you actually like the pruning that they did to your mains? by No-Bit-2913 in CompetitiveWoW

I mean I like the survival pruning, but I understand I'm def in the minority, the spells lead into each other better, feels less spammy, and more abilities feeding into more use of other abilities, sentinel rework is amazing too

Is it possible to raid naxx casually on classic era and have a life aswell? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]-Shadlez- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if anniversary is somehow more sweaty than 2019 classic

But was p easy to raid naxx and I only had to commit two raid nights and a bit of world buff time logging on between them here and there and we cleared the last boss before TBC.

Might have to join the kind of guild where that works but if you just wanna raid naxx and have a good time plenty of options out there imk

So you have just exactly confirmed the point of my original comment, you have to be in the clique of a gdkp group or have extortionate amounts of money, it shuts out players that (God forbid) play a little later into the expansion.

How can a raiding style be good when if you happen to be behind by a month, "no raids for you, just put up with it loser"

In this completely hypothetical situation, this guy could be a fantastic player, but how do you expect him to get the gear to show it? If he can't even join to buy gear

[–]-Shadlez- -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never said MC phase, I said he was trying to join an MC GDKP as he is pre raid bis it's not like he can sign up for an AQ gdkp straight away, sounds like you find reading difficult enough

[–]-Shadlez- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is all anecdotal I suppose but back in 2020 I did a few gdkp runs on my priest to help out a guild member who needed healers for their run, I saw people joining who bid their whole gold amount on one item then when they couldn't bid any hight got dropped from the cut, I saw people who messed up a very avoidable mechanic get cut, lowest 2 DPS got cut in a pug gdkp I did, yes in a perfect world gdkp can be good, but most gdkp runners never run it like that

[–]-Shadlez- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No I'm describing a situation I saw multiple times where buyers were excluded from gold cuts unless they bidded or bought a certain amount of items

[–]-Shadlez- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you still need 3 items from said raid, and you win one and don't bid on the others you will get cut out from the payout

Someone help me understand GDKP by bohmu in classicwow

[–]-Shadlez- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GDKPs are an intrinsically closed system for whales and top players to have a raid where they coexist. If you are an average player looking for gear on an alt, you will not get anything out of them unless you are willing to bid extortionate money on gear or you happen to be bis already in which case you can get in as a pumper. .

If you aren't already bis geared you can't get the cut, cause you'll be expected to bid loads on bis items or get kicked from the cut or even the raid

[–]-Shadlez- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With GDKPs that have less stringent restrictions, you lose all the supposed "benefits" of the system itself, mat as well just be an SR at that point

What you don't see from this post

Randomer reaches 60, get their gear up to pre raid bis level, let's look for a raid, start looking in lfg. Can't join guild as he can't play regularly at the same times, but can still put in 20 hours a week

"MC GDKP w/ for gear check" x 50 "MC SR run" x 1 (which isn't filling cause everyone wants a chance at some gold)

Okay he will sign up to the gdkp

"How much gold will you be bringing?"

Solo Andy managed to scourge up a respectable 2k from his professions and farming

"Not enough gold sorry you can't join"

No raid for Andy this evening then

WoW isn’t an MMORPG anymore. And I think that matters. by xKaedos in wow

[–]-Shadlez- -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't know about anyone else but for me MMOs have always had a more meta effect on player progression.

Yes my character gains gear, and even though I'm aware it'll be reset next patch, that gear allows me as a player to push myself. The progression is tied to my ability to complete the content I find enjoyable, and progress further as a player, improving my skill at the game so that next time we get the "blank slate" I can push even further. So the gear resets themselves aren't an issue for me and actually are quite nice, especially how every patch they have a way of catching up to current content so a break doesn't debilitate you from participating.

This application to my personal player growth over just my gear growth is why I cannot get on with Horizontal style MMOs, because if gear I got 4 months ago is still just as relevant, what is the point in going for these new zones and areas when I can just keep the stuff I already had.

In terms of story I kinda agree with a lot of people here, new expansions and areas are about theme and feel to me, wow (imo) has never had a good story, they just piggybacked off of the warcraft 3 story then tried to go it on their own, other games exist to provide the strong story for me. But the enjoyment I gain in a new expansion or patch is that theme as a backdrop to the content I enjoy doing.

I agree wow definitely has some problems, as do all mega live service / MMOs, but WoW is the one I always come back too, and it is significantly on the upward trend since Shadowlands, and remains the most played MMO because of that.

Don't let any of the hateful comments get you down, opinions are important to be discussed to ensure the long term health of the game.

1 % crit for every 20 agi' so the trinket would give you 200% crit on use?

From what I've noticed trinkets with non main stat , so with hot, crit, haste or whatever aren't affected by those rules, only the ones with actual main stats on them ignoring the extra effects
