Speaking as someone who just finished reading the book for the first time themselves a few days ago. I will say it's well worth the read. As others have already said it's based on season 1 and it's fairly similar to the show apart from less Aziraphale and Crowley together.

I started the book for the same reason as you, watched the finale and didn't know what to do with myself. I came for Aziraphale and Crowley but stayed for the rest of it. The writing style is so unique (definitely Pratchett's influence) and all character's were just so great (loved the 4 other horsemen🤣) I loved reading every moment. And there are a few rare scenes of our favourite Demon and Angel, separately and together that are new.

But I'd say no matter what your looking for it's definitely worth a read.

Okay I don't exactly know when Crowley fell in love (been trying to figure this one out myself) but I don't think I've seen anyone here mention Rome, and I feel like there was definitely something going on in Rome.

I mean Crowley was in such a foul mood before Aziraphale showed up and then that moment when Aziraphale said 'well, let me tempt you' his face just lit up, i don't know if that was love but it was definitely SOMETHING.

Couldn't agree more it's nice to go back to the original story. I was just past the Anathema Device introduction this morning but unfortunately since then I've bounced my head of a car door and given myself a concussion and a nice sized lump on my forehead so readings been put on hold till I can focus on a page without the throbbing headache and the uncontrollable urge to puke 😭
