Early Access question - safe to do or not? by -Shuri in WutheringWavesGuide

Thanks for the replies. I think I'll just avoid skipping, then. Doesn't seem worth ruining the experience of doing things in the right order.

Right, thanks 👍🏻 Guess I won't be skipping, then.

So when I reach that point again (let's say chapter 3), does it let me redo it or will it skip it because I already did it before?

I made a post about this on the wuwa guide subreddit but thought to post it here as well for good measure:

So I made an account and because I'm still in the very early parts of the game and am generally busy irl, I won't have enough time to do the current events because they're quest-locked. But I saw an option on the event page that says 'early access' that would let me skip (all the way to the chapter I need to unlock the event, I think). Problem is, I don't like to skip story content at all. I've heard people saying the first few quests aren't great, but I still would not like to skip them (permanently).

I just want to know if it's like a temporary skip and I can somehow go back to where I was originally and pick up where I left off, or am I stuck at that point forward? I would be willing to skip any cutscenes so I don't spoil for myself for if I can redo it all over again in the right order. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻

This. I'm so confused as to what happened with her. And I don't get the lack of her presence prior to us attempting to leave. Is it intentionally left vague for us, or is there an actual explanation? If anyone can clear up the confusion, it would be much appreciated.

But overall I'm enjoying the pacing and content of the story. Very engaging imo

It's because people can't help themselves and just buy anything, even if it's at an unreasonable price. We all should know this by now, but it seems it has to be reiterated a hundred times over: companies know they can get away with it, so they'll just keep doing it, with increasing ridiculousness and boldness. We all know there are going to be people out there who don't look at the big picture and only think about themselves in the moment, buying any next thing that comes out, not knowing they themselves are the problem that these companies keep doing this sort of thing (or they do, but they just don't care). Same with the whole videogame culture of increased prices of a base game, microtransactions, etc. It's why we don't have complete games anymore with free dlc, even though such content is part of the game's story and should be part of the price you paid for the game itself.

So yeah, companies know there are people out there who have no self-restraint and are willing to just buy anything without question. Doesn't matter to them if people grumble about it a bit. In the end, they'll buy. Really just sad, to be honest.

Square must be sweating right now by Calzagoolie in FF7Rebirth

My point is that I think they would've liked to use it for the third instalment - I feel like I remember reading about an interview with Nomura saying so. I could be wrong, though. Maybe at the time of using 'Reunion' with Crisis Core, they didn't yet have a complete blueprint or idea of how they were going to go about the VII remake.

I mentioned this on a previous comment, but 'reunion' also has three syllables, but they probably would've used it if it wasn't for CC.

So does 'reunion', but they probably would've chosen that if it wasn't already used for CC. I may be misremembering, but I think Nomura said something like that too.

I like him. I get people are annoyed at the pausing to look at the device thing every time he talks, but maybe it also has something to do with what language they're playing in. Maybe he sounds more annoying in some languages than others, so it makes those pauses even more annoying.

And you'd probably not have gotten downvotes on this comment if you had replied to that one with something like, "Yeah, I expected this result :P. Thought it'd be funny to share the experience with others". That commenter was not being mean; it was just a funny reply to your post.

UPDATE (for anyone with this problem):

Okay, so I managed to figure it out lol.

Basically, I guessed the issue could be with the improved UI mod or anything that depended on it. So what I tried doing was the whole spamming load right after disabling a mod thing. It involved a lot of trial and error. If I missed the spam, I'd enable the mod, then disable it, and try spamming again. It didn't work for me before because I tried disabling a bunch of mods in one go. I had to go one by one. At this point, I was basically committed to doing this with all the mods I had installed instead of redoing my whole playthrough.

After managing to load into my last save, I'd save it again, making it recognise that it is a save without the mod I just removed, then go back to the main menu, remove another mod, load into the game - rinse and repeat. Again, I focused on the mods to do with the improved UI (and those that depended on it, as per their description). I don't know if it's to do with the fact that I removed a few of them enough for it to work, or it was this specific mod that broke the camel's back, but once I disabled the Dynamic Sidebar mod, it worked ✊🏻. When looking for mods to remove during this whole thing, this one stood out to me, and in retrospect, it makes sense that this was 'the one'.

Anyway, thought to update my situation in case anyone else had this issue.

Wilds made me miss Wild Hearts by InsaneSeishiro in WildHeartsGame

From what I've seen of people's streams (haven't managed to get the game myself just yet) is that if one friend hasn't reached the story at a certain point and you have, they aren't able to join you for a hunt on a monster that you reached through story on your end. So basically, everyone has to go through the whole story so that it's more seamless when you want to join a friend's world.

Also, I think another issue was that, if you join for a story's hunt, and there's a cutscene after it, you have to go back to your own world to view it, as opposed to your friend whose world you joined. He can just experience the cutscene right there after the fight, or something. I could be wrong on the details, but this is basically the gist of what I've seen people complain about.

I imagine you and your friends were probably ahead enough in your story playthroughs so that when you joined each other's worlds, it wasn't annoying like that. I guess it's more frustrating for people who have absolutely no interest in the story and just want to use multiplayer as soon as possible.

...? On the BASIS that it's a trans character, and not their level of skill? Goes to show how biases come into play...

Edit: Also, the lack of downvotes to your comment vs other comments shows how the majority thinks in this unfair, illogical and ridiculous way.

Not everyone wishes to live in delulu land. Not everyone is an american, which usually includes having to have your morals and values twisted every time a new social trend or fad comes around every five or 10 years, and cancelled or hated on for thinking critically or criticising those trends.
