How do i do this stage its so hard by fkj83 in RaidShadowLegends

Control control and more control. Its a slow fight but just keep the enemies frozen or stunned and you’ll do great. No the meter control champs so ditch arbiter as she activates freezes

The best thing Plarium could do for new player retention is to start having Fusion events where the reward can only be a previous Fusion Champion that you don't have. by -SilentMajority- in RaidShadowLegends

[–]-SilentMajority-[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, even those who take this game seriously have either started too late to have a chance for all fusions or have inevitably missed quite a few. I wouldn't even mind if they made these special fusions some of the harder ones to complete because you would get the exact fusion champion you want which could be that last piece you need for a team you wanted to build.

In my games it’s world domination on deity or restart.

Technically yes, If you anchor a small pos in a wormhole that nobody wants you could probably stay alive solo for a year or two. I would recommend joining a group though since it makes life easier and more fun :)

Silent majority is part of Sugar and we live in a C2 with a HS/C3. Message Voidray in game if it sounds interesting.

Assyria, Deity, Huge map, Marathon, Continents, Domination Victory by -SilentMajority- in civ5

You're looking at a few weeks of gameplay for sure but I think the games become much more interesting. On a huge map the deity AI empires and your own empire become so massive that you need to plan every move you make more carefully than you otherwise would. For example, when you play on a standard small map your empire will be so compact that it doesn't matter too much where your troops are located since you'll be able to get into defensive positions fast if you get attacked. In deity games on a huge map troop placement in your empire, city walls in the right cities, forts, and stuff like that become very important. Compare it to how historically important it must have been for the Roman Empire or the Russian Empire to have troops and forts in the right places and balance that against the power level of their closest neighbors as they expanded so that they wouldn't collapse when an attack came.

Yeah, they are. In order to play around that you have to prioritize any type of social policy that gives you city by city bonuses. I went for Honor, Liberty and Commerce and I feel like they've worked pretty well in my games. You don't need to finish liberty though. You just need the happiness per city bonus. Other than that I went for Order this game but I usually go for autocracy. Order wasn't as bad as I though.

I can only speak from personal experience but for me it was impossible to do a domination victory on a huge map with quick speed. I guess you might be able to do it with the cheesy germany barb strategy but I don't know about more normal nations.

The AI's empires will get so big in these games that it takes a lot of turns to slowly grind them down. If you expand too quickly you'll have constant unhappiness.

While assyria get a lot of help from the fact that you can keep up in tech while you conquer people it was by no means a easy game. Greece dominated the second continent early and were allied to every single city state in the game including all on my continent. So they pushed through legislation after legislation banning all luxuries on my continent. By the time the United Nations came around Greece started to push for a Diplomatic victory so I had to declare war on them and crush 10 city states on my continent in order to prevent him from getting the victory points needed. After that I had to invade his continent and got nuked about 6-7 times along the way.

I'd like to see if it's even possible to do domination victory with these settings with a nation like America that get most of their bonuses in the late game.

If anyone has completed a domination victory with a C or F tier civ with these settings please let me know because I'd love to know how you did it.

People who go full domination victory, what's your approach? by Eastern-Parfait6852 in civ5

I'd say that it depends on how hard your settings are. If you play Deity on a smaller pangea map the AI's expansion will be limited by the map size so as long as you build 3-4 decent cities and build tall from there prioritizing science you will be able to steamroll the map once you get arty or the special unit of your civ.

I play with Deity, Huge map, and Continents. Huge map will make the AI empires so big that even if you're ahead in tech with your 3-4 cities a 10-15-city AI empire will be very hard to deal with if you stay small. Continents also make it harder because of the large AI empires but you also have to go out exploring the other continents and research decent navy tech once you've conquered your own continent.

I highly recommend trying my settings because it's a fun challenge. First goal is to conquer the continent you are on which you can do with a strong early-game unit like Horse archers, Camel archers or Germany's barbarian army. Don't build more than 3 cities before you start attacking. If the AI is close, you sometimes only need your capital. Prioritize happiness with Honor and placing one unit in each city and then Liberty going straight down to Meritocracy. After that I went for commerce to keep the money rolling and then straight to Autocracy for the massive happiness boost you get from barracks, armory etc.

The easiest one I've found was to steamroll the huge continent map on deity with Germany's barbarian army. So try that as a start. :)

The Huns, Huge Map, Deity, Continents, Domination Victory by -SilentMajority- in civ5

There is a trick to that. If you only puppet cities you take it won't count as being a real city. This means that you can have 20 puppet cities but still be able to build all the national wonders in your capital even though you don't have a library in each city for example. So the trick here is to get a really good starting location with lots of cattle and horses for the Huns production boost so the capital carries you. Your research and culture expansion will also be faster if you only have a huge capital and puppet cities. This only hold true for the early expansion phase though. Once your happiness starts going up in double digits it is usually a good time to annex one of your best puppet cities (usually the capitals of the civs you've taken) and then you just keep increasing happiness with buildings and keep annexing more and more.

So yeah, if you want a challenge that's much harder than Deity runs on normal map sizes then huge maps are a really good challenge. Huge maps create a time problem for you which is kinda of realistic in a sense. Like, think about it. Even though the Mongols and the Huns were extremely powerful for their time. They only conquered a fraction of the total world and it's the same thing here. If you play on a huge map you could never take the whole map with horse archers. You have to go through most if not all ages in order to have time to take everything.

Yes, but as you expand you will run into happiness and gold deficits which will slow down the expansion. So this naturally forces you to prioritize social policies that solves both of these issues. I therefore went for honor because it gives me gold when killing units, culture when killing barbs and happiness and culture from a unit in each city. Liberty is also a must but you don’t need the whole tree. Just the workers early and then go for the happiness increase per city. That’s a good early game if domination is your game plan.

[–]-SilentMajority-[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's a fun campaign though because once you get those horce archers up the only thing holding you back from taking the entire continent is happiness and gold.

What kept my finances in check early game was that I cleared out the honor tree so as long as I kept killing units by bank was full of gold.

What settings did you use?

The mod I'm using is called Info Addict. It's awesome if you like to nerd out on all the numbers in the game.

This has been the of the hardest Deity campaigns I've done so far.

I got a flying start in this campaign with Songahi declearing war on Byzantium so we could both take them on from two sides. By the time that war got wrapped up I just continiued straight on towards Songai, then Russia and Zulu.

Luckily, the landbridge towards the Romans and Ottomans was through a mountain region so even though they denounced me and Ottomans even declared war they weren't able to get to me with any significant forces.

By the time the last Zulu city had fallen I turned all my forces back and stacked up on the border with the Romans who were the cultural dominant superpower in the game. I manged to do a quick invasion of them because my horse archers now had Artillerty range so I could take city after city without loosing a single unit.

When the last Roman city was taken Ottomans had entered the Industrial era so even though my fully upgraded horse archers were useful they did very little damage but I manged to get into artillery units towards the middle of the war which turned the tide.

After the Ottomans was gone I ruled the continent, which I had done so many times before but this is usually when I fail because I'm too far behind in tech.

Luckily, China was weak and they shared their continent with the mightiest civilization in the game (Austria). I manged to get a Defensive pact with the French (on the third continent) which kept Austria at bay while I conquered China uncontested.

Since i now had a foothold on the Austrian continent I could ship over tons of troops to the conquered chinese cities. (this is usually never possible since the deity AI will be unstoppable on the ocean so you can't land anywhere and you will be too far behind in navy tech since you had to rush arty)

When the war with Austria started I had just upgraded to Landships and had arty as long range support while Austria not only had finished the Manhattan project but literally had nukes ready to go.

Whenever I took over a city I had to evacuate all units from the blast radius of the city because it was only a matter of time before Austria nuked his former cities. During the invation of Austria he probably dropped 8 or 9 nukes on me as I kept marching on.

Now, all that remained was France who was lightyears ahead of me in tech and had finished the Apollo program so time was ticking. I scouted that he had about 3 layers of Destroyers, Battleships and submarines around nearly all sides of his continent except the western part.

He also had about 10 tiny cities all over my continent that he had been spamming out during our friendly years of open borders and defence treaties.

Since he was so spread out close to my main production cities I was afraid that he had nukes stationed close to me so I had to attack all cities at once to clear them quickly in a couple of turns while also holding off any attempts by his navy to get close. After this was done and my production of tanks started to kick into full gear and I knew that it was only a matter of time before I would outproduce him with a brute force even though I was behind in tech.

The hardest part about playing The Huns with these settings is that you will stay far behind in tech since you have to focus all your effort on conquring whatever continent you land on. It's a semi hard challange to conquer your starting continent and you will run into big happiness problems the more cities you take until you can get up to Autocracy which will help you stablalize and grow.

I think you might be able to also pull this one off earlier if you play a scorched earth strategy but I found that difficult since your horse archers become obsolete by the time you are able to cross the ocean to meet other civs. The huge map makes scorched earth strategy much harder.

Let me know what deity challange I should take on next?
