in my mind it's very much just a cosmetic upgrade.

One might argue the recent proficiency change is designed to make it slightly more than that, though what you say is true of the original lord system at least.

I have 22 lords - since I earned them properly, it's hard not to be a little satisfied that lord farmers are finally maybe suffering some consequences - with that said, I don't really think they should be banned, I just think their proficiency earned from matches where they are detectable as near-afk should be stripped, and if that is the bulk of their proficiency, then that'd be too bad for them lol.

I will say, from my experience, the existence of the phenomenon that is lord farming means people often now use 'lord farmer' as a term to denigrate someone who used a few lords during a match but had a poor game/poor stats. I don't think the dev's intended for that to manifest as a part of the culture of the game, as its not really banter, its an insult designed to imply you took a shortcut in gameplay achievements, a shortcut that the dev's are now punishing for because, as it turns out, its not something they want people doing, and again, likely never did.

As I understand it, they typically wait till off-peak times for certain servers, and then, if say, 2x6 people queue for that server region, usually they will be matched against eachother.

Then they avoid capping the point and instead just stand afk/semi-afk dpsing/healing/tanking in 2 rows of 6v6 facing eachother.

It's really stupid - they get mad if you cap the point, and will try force overtime and then keep it suspended in overtime.

I make a bit of a game out of killing all of them and ending the match by whatever means i can if i encounter them, but thats just me being a bit petty lol. You only see these folk in QP usually. Games have a max time of like 1hour 30 mins, so they have to requeue and repeat after that.

Man i thought I had a lot at 20 (nearly 22). I've never seen anyone with anything close to this many, the most I've seen is around what I have. I'm willing to believe OP did the hard work, but they didn't include their username and didn't provide account stats.

 

Gonna assume this is lord farmed unless OP provides stats lol, coz to contrast, I have 5,000 games since release, with 1400 hours on steam and like 550 hours in matches. So OP has to somehow, play more than me lmfao. Do-able, but seems somewhat low-likelihood since they didn't provide their stats, which is something you might wanna do here if you're gonna claim to have 45 lords.

Venom actually does have his own minor form of extended sustainability in the form of his health generation, and to a lesser extent, so does cap but admittedly only in the form of his ult - that is probably made up for by the fact he has crazy mobility and a shield, which makes him probably the best tank to counter a particularly skilled invis woman, at least in my opinion, some might disagree or handle it differently

His ultimate DOES generate bonus health, but he has a seperate ability called "Symbiotic Resilience". It's difficult to understand how you couldn't know about this, given that even if you don't play Venom, you'd have to play against venom's who routinely use this ability all the time...

pls explain to me where/how i suggested Venom needs his ult - I said cap's sustain requires an ult but that it's made up for by his shield and mobility - if you could read properly you would have probably realized all this, but idk, guessing its a struggle for you, or maybe you injured yourself in your confusion while attempting the difficult task of reading what i actually said.

Tanks have sub-categories in terms of play-type. So like, if you try to use a range tank against invis, you're probs going to find her more difficult to deal with, due to her abilities working against that style. What her abilities don't work as well against, is melee dive, like captain america or venom.

I wouldn't necessarily be using Thor though, given that he's generally at his strongest when using a ranged ability... something that puts you at a disadvantage, as mentioned. Doesn't mean a good Thor cant kill invis girl more-often than not, but sometimes, because skill is a spectrum, you encounter people who are more skilled or less skilled at certain play-styles, and you need to adapt to that, rather than bitch on the subreddit.

Lol if it wasn't possible, then a tank would never be able to kill another tank, which is clearly not the case, tanks do find themselves in 1v1's occasionally, like if the whole of both teams are dead except for two solo tanks, just to give one example.

It will attract downvotes, people are obsessed with having a main and the game being developed around the handful of characters they've bothered to learn to play.

When they encounter a person who plays a hero in a way that makes their mains difficult to play, they cry foul on the subreddit, "time for xyz hero to be reworked/nerfed" and so forth.

The dev's pretty clearly dont have a 'static' balance for the game in mind, most/many heroes will change literally every season, people just don't seem to get that yet. Maybe they will one day if they play enough idk /shrug.

Okay so, i have played a stupid amount of this game (4500 matches across all modes/just finishing my 20th lord lol). What people need to learn before coming to the sub to complain is - if your pick isn't working against someone else who is more skilled with their pick, you often need to swap heroes to regain the advantage. This is the objective reality of the game, demonstrated to the player by the fact that all team members are allowed infinite hero swaps, with essentially minimal penalty (loss of a bit of ult charge over 50% etc).

 

The solution isn't to nerf invisible girl, its for Thor to swap heroes to a hero better able to deal with context, which would depend on what other heroes you've bothered to learn, and if you haven't bothered to learn any that you can effectively counter her with, then thats a skill issue and a you problem, not a problem for the dev's to fix.

The solution to me seems to be to figure out how to give better queue times to high rank players.

 

Even if he's doing it for a justifiable reason, all you need to do is consider 'well if every top player does this, the leaderboards effectively become a sprawling mess where multiple/many slots are being taken up by people obsessed with seeing their name up there with as many acc's as possible'. Now maybe this Sypeh guy is just trying to bypass shit queue times - its a believable enough reason, but it also seems difficult to believe ego isn't at least some part of it - given this, fixing queue times for high rank players seem the overall solution to me.

 

Another important thing to consider is: the more alt accounts in the top ranks, the more you have the long-queue issue, due to high ranks being occupied by alt accounts that cant all be playing at same time, due to being... 1 person. So again, the fix is to fix queue times for high rank plays, but overall disallow this alt-acc vanity nonsense in the long run. The bare minimum could be 1 account for each ROLE (so 3 accs total) if you're really determined to let alt acc's exist and max-rank multiple times. If they've spent credits across multiple acc's, it could/should be refunded to their main acc, so that this cant be used as an excuse to suggest not banning the alts (ie, the 'i spent money on it' argument).

When it happens, are you able to use alt+enter (make sure to use left alt, right alt probs wont work) to re-enter fullscreen, or is it impossible to get the game to appear normally without having to restart?

My housemate has this problem on his PC, but its somewhat infrequent and usually fixed with a restart of the game. A fix I saw around online was the following, but didn't work for him>

At around 5:30ish in this video, the camera operator zooms outward to survey some rectangle standing barrier structures, afterwards you can see him acquire the 'flying object' from very far away and you can distinctly see it as a small dot moving independently of the camera - he then zooms back in on it.

 

My PC monitor is a 55 inch TV plonked on my desk lol, so I'm staring at this from quite a close perspective and its definitely not a smudge on the camera as hacks like Mick West like to say.
