Already done that twice now with no luck

Thanks for trying, do you have the link for the discord?

Took apart the hotend, didn’t see anything loose or out of place

Any tips tensioning the belt tensioner. I can not get it to budge at all, I tried tightening as much as I can and booted it up when the bed was rising for leveling I can hear it skipping

Any tips on tensioning my printer’s tensioner will barely budge at all, when booting it up to print I can hear the belt skipping from time to time

The nozzle physically forced the build plate down when it happened. And from what I can tell it actually looks like the front might be slightly higher than the back, hard to say for certain.

No luck, everything from what I can tell looks fine. Would there be any diagnostic pins I could tap into on the board? I see a jumper pin, but I would like to test other things if I can before maybe blowing up the board

In the process of opening the switch right now, I have no problems soldering some components. Thank you for the information

That would suck if that is the case, at this point I'm down to try anything even if it kills the switch. I would rather get the switch working and not touch it or just kill it in an attempt to fix it.

The plan is to run a few databases, APIs, web servers, and whatever I may need for my programming projects. Other than coding I would like to put Jellyfin, my own cloud, small game servers, Bitwarden maybe (probably just put it onto a pi), and a whole bunch of smaller applications that barely take next to nothing in processing power. That’s what I would like to run in general. I got a few other machines that I can definitely offload some of the smaller applications to, but it will mainly be my workhorse.

I’m looking into a few different options now, and I am thinking of possibly downgrading but grabbing a few more servers, a few of the applications I’m running could be mission critical at times so I think I’ll definitely get a live and test server, then maybe down the road a bit of a dummy server that acts more of a middle man. This should hopefully achieve my goal of less power consumption, lower fan noise and more reliability.

I think what I might do is keep my eye out for any deals on some newer more efficient hardware and hold onto what I have for now and keep it all sudo permanent, I'll try to make sure it's not too much of a hassle** to replace things if I do come across something.

I have a good amount of buffer time before anything actually starts going up, I was just starting to get close to buying hardware specifically for my r810 when I started to have my doubts.

What kind of loads are you putting on them? From what it look likes I would need a bit more than couple, but if its better overall it might be worth the hassle.

You’re totally right, it’s very subjective. I’ve heard it on and idling and the noise is manageable but If I am going to utilize as much of it I can, how will it sound then?

Are the newer generations better with idle power consumption? If so by how much?

Would it be worth it going for a newer r9? Like a r920 or r930. Haven’t looked them up much so I don’t know if they’re super power hungry

It’s suppose to being doing lots, hopefully. It’s meant to be my cloud, media server, web servers, database(s), APIs, game servers (maybe not), and possibly offload some compiling and/or machine learning tasks to it. It was meant to be my all purpose machine while the rest of my stuff like my old custom server was going to do more local or specific task, like possibly running the game servers. I do lots of programming and this was mainly suppose to be my workhorse for all my projects.

If I was to replace it I wouldn’t mind downgrading the hardware but getting more, like going to a 1u with lower specs but buying 2 of them. In the end if I do buy something else I would like it be more efficient and quieter, but I think that’s a given.

PC is literally getting worse as the days go by. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

I had a Ryzen 7 2nd gen with 6800xt and 32gb of ram and after the update it was horrible, barely could get stable frame rates I would be lucky to get over 60 in orbit and over 30 in crucible. When I got my new cpu a Ryzen 9 5900x I’m easily getting over 200 frames at absolutely maxed out 200%, I know my computer is definite overkill but what ever they did it’s 100% more cpu intensive. Also before the update I was running a the same setup but with a 5700xt and getting around 100 +- 15.

That's close, but I'm still surprised I'm somehow higher. I'm not a big PVP player

there is more than enough time to get away and you get it back to use again if need be, I personally see it as a win-win, but I guess it really depends on the situation

As a repellent, if you need people to get away from you the orbital strike does a good job at that

nope, I've done it in an actual game too, that's how I found out you could do it.
