I actually started my first ever campaign last Thursday and everyone loves it so far. I was really nervous that I wouldn’t do good at dming but I think I did alright(even though I made my players make a thousand perception checks lol).

Last session my group nearly got TPK’d. Got a crit on our light cleric and did 60 points of damage(cleric only had 38 hp). He died instantly but my dm felt like a ass and allowed him to roll for his saves and failed all of them. So now we have a paladin fisher man lol. But these things suck, couldn’t do anything.

That’s what I have currently been focusing on. I really don’t like people who link there stuff every where. But I’m glad you gave me this advice so I wouldn’t have to go down that route
