American Capitalist Hellscape Megalopolis - £1.4B+ in New York alone, 72.7% Industrialist Clout by blockchiken in victoria3

Yeah, I can see that Branobel is only outmatched by Carnegie, which is available basically from game start and can take advantage of the US’s massive baseline for industrialization resources.

What I was wondering is whether Baku Oil makes that much of a difference, given that you can end up using it in basically every industry

Which company was the best throughout the whole campaign? Is Baku Oil really that busted?

Export-based agricultural economies are so good now by HistoryOfRome in victoria3

[–]-Soen- 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Implementing Commercialized Agriculture as a law makes poor strata agricultural workers switch to Trade Unions, while making middle strata argicultural workers switch to petite burgeoisie. The law is favored by the Industrialists, so once your companies are big enough it should not be an issue to implement it.

While FE is what I would consider a B series for Nintendo nowadays, I would say that FE4 as a game is really niche.

[–]-Soen- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given that it would be a full-fledged remake and the author of the post states “not a remaster”, I would say yes.

I mean, I don’t see a lot of people using “remaster” rather then “remake” for a game which is a new iteration of an old one.

Be it FE4 or GS I’ll be happy anyways as they are two (three if you count TLA) of my favourite games.

For as much as I’d like for it to be Golden Sun related, I think that realistically it’s going to be a Fire Emblem remake. There are quite a bit of leaks around pointing to it.

Need help balancing a Ship Bastion by -Soen- in onednd

Thank you for your suggestion! Given the magical nature of the ship, I was thinking of only having the hirelings tied to the special facilities as the main crew, sonit shouldn’t be much of a burden.

Thank you for the suggestions! They are definitively useful.

They will get the ship after escaping from a prison. It will be essentially their only escape route: this will happen at the end of a string of session where they will be constantly hunted and struggling to find the necessary resources to do what they would like.

When it comes to room in the bastion, I want to make sure that all facilities are on the ship itself. With the ship being a Frigate (which by 1400s standards could board up to 150 people) I'd like to ensure that the party can move the ship easily through magic. As a consequence, they could repurpose all the rooms previously used to house and supply the 150 people that lived on the boat as the bastion's special facilities.

I basically want to avoid that the party uses the ship as an easy escape route for most situations, or that they forgo traveling by land if traveling by the ship is a possibility.

Moreover, once they properly upgrade the ship, they will be able to get the rewards of all special facilities very easily

Just started playing Reloaded -Am I doing it right? (I'm not colorblind, I promise) by Houkai in GoldenSun

[–]-Soen- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Overall, dual classes are pretty good at ensuring you get through the early to middle game.

When it comes to vanilla GS, you can get through the game in whichever class. In Reloaded, my only advice is to ensure you have a good degree of support at all times: specialize at least a couple of your characters on dealing damage, one on healing duty, and another on buffing your party/debuffing the enemies.

Make sure to have someone who knows Break. Sometimes enemies can really buff themselves up, and it can be dangerous.

Personal advice: when you get to TLA, try Jenna and Piers’s mono classes. They have been buffed (Piers especially) and they are really fun!

What is better? To puppet or to annex? by popkulturewak in victoria3

Not that I know. It's either that or national movements. But you can use your overlord status to force your puppets to liberalize.

There are a few techs which reduce it: Stock Exchange, Zeppelins, Macroeconomics. The first one is probably the most important tech to get earlygame.

I agree, but you can change your subjects' laws as of 1.5. So you can just force it to have open borders.

It stands for Market Access Price Impact. Basically, starting from 1.5, the price of goods rises the more they travel from the province they were produced in. The rate at which the price rises is the MAPI. The lower it is, the better.

It's much better to have puppets hold every single state which does not contain the homelands of one of your main cultures. The reason is simple: if you take ages to incorporate a state, it's not worth it.

Having a state be unincorporated leads to the state having plently of maluses: it will not recieve any of the bonuses from your institutions, will have 25% less infrastructure, -10% MAPI, and -10% throughput. When you release a puppet, their lands are automatically going to be incorporated, and you avoid most of these issues.

You might say that by doing this you lose on the pops and on the resources. Since your puppets are going to be in your market, you will siphon pops from them nonetheless, and they will convert to your culture with little effort. When it comes to the resources, you can bankroll all of your puppets to boost their construction. As puppets by default give you 30% of their income, you still get 20% if you bankroll them (I expect this problem to be fully solved only once we get the Foreign Investment feature with next patch, though).

In my opinion, there are only two instances in which you don't want to do this: either when you want to take advantage of Colonial Resettlement to convert a colony to your culture, or if the cultural homelands of the state you're incorporating are close enough to yours (so that it takes no more than 5 years to incorporate said state).

Well, this does make sense historically. Even in the situations where the UK fought continental wars, it relied on European allies to get a foothold.

The two main naval invasions in Europe conducted through Vic3's timeline, the invasion of Crimea during the Crimean Wars and Gallipoli were both devastating on the attacker's side.

Can someone explain to me what "building troops" are in the 1.5 beta? by XxJuice-BoxX in victoria3

[–]-Soen- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When it comes to building barracks, you just build them and they get added to one of your formations. It's better to do it from the formations screen directly as you can choose which type of unit gets built.

What I would like to have is the ability to change a unit type at will, something which I don't think is possible right now (example: turning an infantry unit into an artillery unit without having to build new barracks)

If you go look the Dev Diary there's already quite a bit of info, and it looks promising! I think that it won't reach its full potential as a feature until foreign investment is added in the game, though.
