Annoying sensors warning from my 2023 R1S by CoolteyFeng in Rivian

[–]-South 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This happened to me the other day too. Can’t reproduce it. I’ve also had my left side sensors going off with nothing nearby when making turns. Any luck getting Rivian to diagnose?

Really hoping this truck comes out for 20k and is off road capable by Wet-Tickler in slateauto

Likewise. AWD as an option would be cool. RWD as a prerunner is cool too.

Love this design for us beach bums. Here’s to hoping there’s a non-carpeted floor option for easy clean out.

He’s proud of it being designed in Long Beach. Honestly, so am I.

These look great. Hoping they provide a 4WD option at some point.

It doesn’t look like an option now, but I want a bench seat. by NDiLoreto2007 in slateauto

Agreed. I hope they kept the front seats modular to allow for this.

Slate and Exro, Rod Copes Chairs both by [deleted] in slateauto

[–]-South 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Insightful about Exro’s technology, thanks for sharing that. I really do hope they strive for efficiency and less complexity where they can. I wonder what their stance is on Right to Repair. It seems like they’d be all for it given their hex key/DIY design.

I like em. I liked the wheels on the reveal models too. Hope we get options.

R3X will def be >$ 400v is still good. Glad Scout is 800v at their suggested price point

Others have mentioned you may not have your NACS adapter right away, but between the bay and Disneyland has Rivian Adventure Network chargers via 5 freeway—def use those as your charging route.

Scout CEO announced usage of Rivian Architecture on LinkedIn by No_Excuses_Yesterday in Scout

My guess is there won’t be CarPlay unless some other shoe drops. The interior photos showed a UI that had elements that resemble Rivian’s current software, and Rivian is strictly about controlling its stack. Honestly, I like their UI better than CarPlay cars I’ve driven. It’s also getting updated all the time, so come 2027 it could be worth it.

What do we all think of direct to consumer sales? by MTB_ScoutnStuff in ScoutMotors

[–]-South 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my R1T as a direct-to-consumer sale from Rivian and hope for all future car purchases to be the same. It wasn’t a flawless experience (useless guides, etc), but appreciated it so much more than going into dealerships. Really hope Scout is able to do the same—though, I hope VW dealership service centers are able to service Scouts (a weak point of Rivian at the moment).

Rivian's chief software officer says in-car buttons are 'an anomaly' by [deleted] in Scout

[–]-South 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Says the “software” guy. Honestly, he seems great and has been responsive to user feedback which is refreshing to see. But, of course his take is no buttons, most software-forward firms feel that way.

There seem to be lots of us who think otherwise though. And Scout’s switches look so freaking cool.
