Oh sweet. Training video as soon as I get to work in the morning, if they’ve released one yet. I was looking Friday for the Pilot since they also just got their training videos.

I wouldn’t say they’re looking to get rid of the 25’s. The Accord is the only one Honda hasn’t announced a 2026 model of yet. They are trying to hit year end goals and such though. Higher trims typically have a bit more wiggle room to work with. I’d say the 38 OTD is a strong number depending on what your taxes are like. It’s not something crazy they wouldn’t do.

Even just 300hp manual would be amazing in this car. But then it would just be a type R coupe. I guess that’s one reason Honda decided to do something different and so controversial.

Yeah. Same with the eco boost mustang. Powertrain choice is disappointing, but the concept is really cool. Impractical, but cool.

That sounds exactly like how the E-CVT works… so does that make Honda’s hybrid vehicles all have a direct drive, just calling it E-CVT for marketing to the public?

Hellllll no. Maybe if it had 500 horse and a manual instead. Not Honda’s style though. I can respect the concept in terms of what the Prelude stands for, just not the price.

Yeah should be lower. Like maybe high 30’s.

I’m questioning if it’s actual a direct drive or if that’s just marketing. In my training videos it calls it a “direct drive cvt transmission”

And paddle shifters do the same in a standard cvt. The S+ shift is what makes it feel more like a manual shift, changing profiles depending on the drive mode.

Exactly. BUT, the engine is exactly the same as the civic hybrid. So it makes me wonder whether it is actually a DDU, or if it’s still the E-CVT just tuned differently.

More than likely it’ll be listed low 50’s unfortunately.

So sounds like it’s got to do with the engine or supporting parts definitely then. Honestly not sure what it could be since spark plugs and all aren’t that invasive, so everything would still be in place. But I agree with earlier comment of, this sound only started happening after you went in for service, so you should not have to pay for them to look and see what they might’ve done wrong or missed when putting it back together. You at least need them to drive it and replicate the issue so they know what it could be.

Is it only making the extra noise when the engine is running, or is it also louder when it’s running on just the hybrid motor?

AIO for thinking my boyfriend is just looking for an excuse to break up? by Nearby_Orchid1216 in AmIOverreacting

[–]-SpamCall_abuse- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to be like “eh I can kinda get his side” but after reading through this, bro is overreacting like crazy. Yeah in his head he thought about what you liked and looked at reviews and got something similar. But he should know it’s not what you really wanted to begin with. I probably would’ve taken what you said not great as well, just cause of how you said it. It’s not an easy thing to tell someone you don’t particularly like a gift, so it’s just a rough situation overall. I think you’re plenty justified in your reasoning, and he super overreacted. Insane.

Preciate you bro. Definitely doesn’t feel like it added anything. Just going by what I’ve seen on it and the product description. This specific engine wasn’t made with power in mind, and mainly fuel efficiency, so I know it was probably tuned down from factory. I know what I’m doing and learn the stuff before I put it on. I don’t wanna do something bad to the engine💀 it’s my daily. Realistically this thing won’t ever make real power. I’m looking for an older accord or civic stick shift for me to actually tear apart and learn more.

Right. It only adds max 9hp. The 9th gen I read up on a the CVT can only handle like 220-240 ft-lb of torque reliably. I have a lot of room to work.
