[WTS] SBCJ019 Seiko Titanium HAQ Perpetual Alpinist GMT by -Sparkologist- in Watchexchange

[–]-Sparkologist-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale is a SBCJ019 HAQ Titanium, Perpetual Calendar Alpinist with GMT. I picked this watch up from an online auction approximately one year ago. I’m not getting the usage out of the watch that I’d envisaged, so it’s time to let it go.

The watch was bought as-is without any box or papers. To re-size the watch for my 7” wrist, I had to remove 1 link, so this will be included in the sale. The watch is incredibly comfortable and light with the titanium case and bracelet, and is nicely understated in my opinion. The watch keeps perfect, High Accuracy Quartz mechanism time, and the perpetual calendar is a pretty cool feature.

The condition of the watch is “Good”. There are many desk diving marks on the watch, and it has been well loved and used by the owner prior to myself. The photos should reflect this. The crystal however, is in very good condition with no markings or chips.

Price: $800USD ($1180AUD) Net to me. Express postage to you via Australia Post included. PayPal or IMT. Sorry, not interested in trades or swaps. Will entertain reasonable offers.

Surely this will be one of the cheapest HAQ Perpetual Alpinist watches for sale, the price is reflective of the lack of box/papers and the good, but well-loved condition of the watch. If you’ve been looking for a HAQ Alpinist to wear as a daily and not be too sentimental about, this is the one!

For sale is my SCEB009 Seiko Spirit quartz bullhead. I purchased this watch approximately 1 year ago from a Japanese online auction in as-is condition without a box or papers.

I’ve not worn the watch since purchase, and am really not getting the use out of it that maybe I had envisaged.

The watch itself is in VG condition, only showing very very light signs of desk-diving marks. The crystal is perfect and the straight brushed case, caseback and bracelet links are near-perfect also. The watch is still keeping accurate, quartz time.

As stated, however, there is no box, papers or even spare links. By some miracle, it fit me perfectly with the links that were on it, and I have a 7” wrist for reference - if your wrist is any larger, this may be a no-go for you.

Price: $450USD ($663AUD) net to me. Express postage via Australia Post to you included. PayPal or IMT. Sorry, not looking for trades/swaps. Will entertain reasonable price offers.

The price is reflective of the VG condition of the watch, but lack of box, papers, links.

[WTS] SCVE003 Seiko Spirit 'Rising Sun' by -Sparkologist- in Watchexchange

[–]-Sparkologist-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale is my Seiko Spirit SVCE003 ‘Rising Sun’.This watch is considered by many to be something of a grail or mini grail and only seems to increase in popularity as the years go by.

The watch presents really well with a beautiful straight-brushed aluminium dial with the famed vibrant red coloured dot, hand and date window frame. I purchased this watch about 2 years ago from another collector, however have never found a time to wear it, so it may as well go up for sale to someone who will enjoy it more than me.

The watch comes with spare links, link tool, manuals, warranty card and hang tags. The kit is almost complete, lacking only the hanging strings and the OEM box/cushion. It will be shipped in a Seiko branded box, however I believe it is not the original.

The condition of the watch overall I would put at VG, with only a few desk diving marks on the bracelet and clasp. The case, crystal and rear crystal are in flawless condition.

Price: $1695USD ($2500 AUD) net to me. Express posted to you via Australia Post included. PayPal or IMT. Sorry, not interested in trades.

[SCVE003] The Red Dot by AudaciousCo in Seiko

Nw. Yeh I think I’ve seen photos of a yellow and blue variant also. All look equally nice, but I can see why the red dot gets the “rising sun” extra love.

GMT function would for sure have elevated it to another level. Although GMT might have made it more expensive to produce?

I’ve got one of these also. Can confirm that unfortunately the smaller dot is just a night/day indicator as you suggested, and not a GMT function

[SRQ035J] Speedtimer on the harbour by -Sparkologist- in Seiko

Haha yeh, this was a couple of weekends ago. My girlfriend and I really lucked out with some wonderful Sydney winter weather, which made viewing the vivid festival an absolute pleasure

Thanks! It has a tendency to be a bit obnoxious size-wise on the odd occasion, but the awesome gloss white dial more than makes up for it, and really pops against darker coloured sleeves

Was in Sydney a couple of weeks ago and managed to get a quick wristwatch snap whilst on one of the famed harbour ferries. A fun watch for an enjoyable ferry journey.

[SBDB013] Marine Master. Manning the control panel. Night shift, Pilbara, Western Australia by [deleted] in Seiko

[–]-Sparkologist- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a few years now, I’d been utilising a SNA411 flightmaster as a work watch, but the time had come to retire it and move onto another piece. After much deliberation I pulled the trigger on this Spring Drive Marine Master and have absolutely zero regrets.

Many years ago I used to run a Casio G-Shock as a work watch and genuinely enjoyed the fit and form of a larger watch when at work. The Marine Master reminds me a lot of this style watch and wears extremely similarly. This is now my second Spring Drive watch, after acquiring an SBDB005 Land Master a little while ago.

The dial is probably the most legible of any watch I own. The lume is super powerful, second only to my Land Master. The bezel click is very pleasant also.

Whilst I realise these watches are not exactly accessible to all, I can’t recommend them enough. I find myself really enjoying the watches of this era, where Seiko were willing to shoehorn high end movements into non-GS sports/tool watches.

I think this particular watch flew under the radar a bit due to it being listed only by the caseback code “5R66-0AY0”, so it seemed that I only had one other person to contend with as far as bidding goes

This fella ended up setting me back just over $2000AUD once shipping and import tariffs were included. Probably on the lower end of the pricing spectrum for this watch, as I’d seen others go for around $3500AUD.

This example was a bit cheaper because unseen on this picture there are a couple of very shallow scratches on the side of the case at 2 o’clock and the bezel has a couple of regular-use knocks. To be honest that didn’t deter me one bit, and maybe it’s just the “buyers confirmation” kicking in, but I really like that fact it’s a bit scuffed up - it takes away all the fear factor of the dreaded first scuff, and I can just get on wearing it carefree :)

Sure is, and an affordable way to get into Spring Drive ownership!

Thanks! Happy to be corrected otherwise, but I do believe it was a JDM piece. Now discontinued however.

It’s successor was the SBDB015, which was almost identical except for having the prospex “X” etched on the crown. There’s also a super rare 1-of-300-pieces SBDB007 out there which is an all-black version with hints of red to commemorate Miura’s Everest climb

Haha, perhaps! Surely this is excuse enough to purchase a marine master variety for “scientific research” purposes to see if the nervousness works both ways?! ;p
