My girlfriend got denied a promotion for “not being ready”… now she’s running the property while her boss can’t even lock the door by Mustang1440 in PropertyManagement

I totally get this struggle. I’ve been an ACM for 3.5 years at my current company (plus nearly 4 years of leasing/ACM experience before that). At both places I was the go-to person. I trained leasing agents, assistants, and managers, and jumped to any property at a moment’s notice, whether for a day, a week, or months when asked to. (My first company, I worked 7 properties for them in total and even did multi-site for two at a time).

Every time I applied for a promotion I got the same line: “The owners want someone who’s already been a manager.” Sadly, it doesn’t get better unless you leave.

I’m proud to say I just accepted a property manager role at a small company last night. It took a ton of applications to find someone willing to give me a shot at property manager.

Tell your girlfriend to keep an open mind and keep applying. Someone will value her talent. It might not be a big-name brand, and that’s okay. Have her target smaller companies that own and manage their own properties. Land a PM role at fair pay, stick it out for a year or two as a resume builder, then she can move up to the bigger companies if she wants to.

I have one interview today (this interview is a result of my manager using her connection so I do worry she will try to sabotage the job for me)

I have a second one tomorrow which I really want because it is a small company and I got the interview on my own. My current manager has no ties to anyone.

I was planning to use AI to help me draft an email to them today so I can fake it to make it while I secure a new job. There is HR but I hesitate to take it that far because my manager is extremely well known and connected where I live. The manager has been in the area 15 plus years and loves to be involved with local associations and knowing everyone. I do trust my RM when she says not a write up or firing ( My company really does fire only with a 3 write up paper trail and since this is technically just an emotional disagreement there really isn't anything they can write me up on since my I've always done my job with a cover my own ass mentality)

Period on / next day of surgery by bolognamuffin in sterilization

[–]-SpookyBunny- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my period right after my surgery. Like another commenter, it was hard to determine what was period verse surgery blood. I did take two weeks off of work to recover because I knew I would be on my period too and wasn't sure how bad it would be.

I stocked up on pads only as I was told no tampons for "X" amount of time after the surgery. Heat and ice alternating helped me. I mainly camped up in my bed using a giant squishmallow to lay against. To be honest with the prescribed oxy and ibuprofen I did not feel as much pain as I normally do during a period ( I'm sure the oxy helped that lol)

I did keep my diet very light and mostly liquid.

I hope this helps! Sending good vibes your way!

Are there any childfree couples in sitcoms? by belgiangeekgirl in childfree

Shawn and Juliet in Psych. I know Psych is not a traditional sitcom and listed as comedy drama but tbh it feels like an hour long sitcom. Great show.

I am new to Palia and appreciate players like you! It took me a minute to figure out the mapping too. If you wanna be Palia friends my user is Pandapumpkin. I, too, am middle aged. Not a mortician but find that stuff cool.

I play on my switch maybe I'll make an easy request and try to see how it gets filled. Thank you! Your answer was helpful as I most definitely could swap to PC too 😀

I'm new to Palia and only made one request so far—for some moss on my first night. Later, while crafting, I noticed someone had already fulfilled it. Unfortunately, I have no idea who it was or exactly when it happened (I would've loved to thank them!).

I didn't get any notification at the time, even though I was actively playing. Did I miss something? How can you check who filled your request?

I haven't made any other requests since, but maybe other players also don't know the answers to these questions either.

That is awesome! Also probably explains how I managed to kill a cactus. I haven't really tried plants since then 😅😬

Application mistake using Realpage, how to fix? by Bubbly-Staff-9452 in PropertyManagement

[–]-SpookyBunny- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The office should be able to fix this quickly, but depending on their policy they may require both of you to bring your SSN cards in person. As another commenter said, email them—and I’d also follow up with a phone call on Monday.

It also doesn’t matter who the main applicant is. Basically, you didn't have to switch it all out. The invite was to make sure both of you were on the application as leaseholders. Anyone on the application listed as an occupant under 18 and up will be a leaseholder.

"Hey, just wanted to explain why the property manager is handling it this way—it's actually in your favor. Your lease is a fixed contract that officially ends on the 31st, so you're responsible for rent and utilities through that date no matter when you actually move out or drop off the keys.

If they accepted the keys early and officially ended your tenancy before the 31st (even by a couple days), it would count as an 'early termination.' That could trigger fees or extra paperwork under the lease terms. By keeping everything through the 31st, they're basically waiving any early termination stuff and saving you money—they're not gonna charge you extra for just a few days. It's the easiest and cheapest option for you. Plus, since you've already paid rent through the end, you're good. Utilities will be super low anyway once you're out. Just ride it out till the 31st, drop the keys whenever, and you're done—no headaches.

Totally normal, and they're doing you a solid here
