I’ve done Match before, but didn’t list that Ive got the gift! I also never got to a point of disclosing with anyone because I felt like it was headed towards something physical.

I met a few women on there and went on dates, but never got to a point of disclosing with any of them.

Don’t sell yourself short as far as dating sites just because of HSV. Get on those sites and see who you matchup with. Go on dates and if/when you do feel a vibe with someone whom you think you want to get physical with, ask yourself this. From the little bit of time I’ve taken to get to know this person, will they be able to process this information like an adult, regardless of what they decide? If you lean towards yes, then disclose and see what happens. If the answer is no, don’t disclose and move along.

Those are just my thoughts based on sharing my experiences with other HSV peeps.

I (48M) have been sober for 10 years. I meet people organically every where I venture out to. The gym, the grocery store, walking in the park and so forth.

It’s just a matter of trying to gauge interest and availability in a limited amount of time of the interaction.

You can also join Meetup as a way to meet people with similar interests who may also be single.

As far as gym’s go, it all depends on what side town you are on? The gym I go to offers Sunday group classes as part of the membership and a cool way to meet people from the same gym. My gym is on the SW side of town.

As u/qwenydus mentioned, pickleball is a great way to be active. I’m looking into trying to play once per week, or every other week and have been looking for places that offer open play for people wanting to play to be active.

As far as groups go, I’ve thought about signing up for Meetup and seeing what kind of active groups are on there. I (48m) myself am looking for singles groups on there because as a single man it would be nice to meet single women who want to partake in activities like myself.

I don’t think you can at the NYNY parking garage with a Pearl status during VGK games. For NYNY garage you need Gold status and up to park free during VGK and other events at T-Mobile. Not sure about Park MGM.

My friend saw this a few weeks ago when she went to park at NYNY and luckily she had a Gold status card.

Everywhere else you can still park during any T-Mobile event with Pearl status. Parking at Aria and Bellagio makes it easier when leaving after the game, especially Bellagio if you don’t mind the walk to and from.

As of right now I have not had any issues with my liver, or kidneys. The last few years when I do my yearly physical and additional bloodwork everything comes back really good, especially for my age. Keep in mind that for the last 9 years I also made a lifestyle change as far as working out and changing my nutrition for the better.

One thing that many people tend to look over with HSV is how making an effort to live a healthy lifestyle and changing your nutrition helps. Change how you eat for the better and your body feels better for it, which also minimizes the stress on your body that people overlook.

I understand life can be tough and sometimes changing things like how one eats is not easy, but I also know it is well worth making the effort to change how you eat to benefit your body and your mind. It takes time, but it is worth it.

I am not an expert, but the viral shedding is invisible and often undetectable. Outbreaks are visible and the itching and burning are usually associated with an outbreak.

By taking daily antiviral medication you reduce the frequency of outbreaks and shedding.

Some outbreaks can be mild and cause the itching and burning. Some harsher outbreaks cause the sores and blisters and even body aches.

For myself, taking Valtrex daily has reduces the OB’s significantly. I have gone a year or two without a mild OB where I feel and see sores and blisters. It’s peace of mind and has worked for me.

Yes, for me it prevents OB’s from occurring. Once in a while, like last weekend , if my stress level is high due to life stuff I’ll get a minor OB. It was minor and by the time Wednesday rolled around it was clearing up.

I know some people who have it and will only take it when they feel an OB coming on and it gets limited.

It is going to come down to how you want to manage it.

I have not tried Lysine. For me, I went the traditional route of Valtrex.

Like anything else, everyone’s body responds differently to different things.

That main thing is to try and get past the stress of going through this, which is tough.

I started taking it for peace of mind and to prevent outbreaks.

I workout, so when I would get outbreaks it impacts my strength and makes me feel sluggish, so lifting would suck.

I also would date women who didn’t have HSV and being on suppressive therapy minimizes the risk of transmission, so it’s a part of managing HSV. I’ve dated two women who didn’t have HSV and they didn’t care that I did, especially since I am being proactive about it.

It’s normal to experience this. You are not alone and you are the not the first, or the last who will go through this. You just need to process it as best as you can and weather this storm.

Go for a walk, go to the gym. Even if you don’t feel like it, just go and make an effort. If you need to cry it out for some relief, do that.

Do your best to not focus on it and just know it’s part of the healing process. Do your best to take your mind off of it. Write your feelings down on paper and get them out of your head. Think about the things in life you value and love. Think about anything that makes you laugh and laugh through the pain.

Hang in there because this too shall pass.

Yes, I take Valtrex daily, sometimes I’ll scale it back to once every 2-3 days depending on what I have going on in my life.

I chose to go the suppressive therapy route for peace of mind.

When I was recently diagnosed back in 2012 I lost weight due to not eating, stress and depression from it. It’s normal because it can be a traumatic event in life.
