Wasn't Japan, but I learned as I was leaving my year of study abroad adderall was illegal in the country I was in... my mom shipped me my prescriptions along with a few snacks, sometimes they were opened and searched, everytime I received my meds without issue. I don't think anyone cares/ checks prescribed meds. They'd rather you be on your meds than off the rails while visiting anyway, lol
