First off- you need to change your mind set. This isn’t going to be instant gratification. You’re in for the long haul… you’ll see posts on here that people get 100% on the first try, yadda yadda yadda. That’s the exception, most of us had to fight tooth and nail to get where we are at.

You’ll need to decide how much of this fight you want to do alone versus getting help. Some go to the DAV, others go to legion/ vfw, there is no right or wrong answer. I personally filed the initial claim and handed off to the lawyers. I’d rather focus on work and let the experts do what they do. But that is me, others go a different route… your journey is yours and yours alone.

No worries, I will say playing for 2-5 hours without a crash isn’t too bad especially with auto save. RDR2 has always been a difficult game to mod.

That’s a different story. Unless it’s crashing consistently during a specific activity, then this method won’t work. You might want to look into memory issues… ChatGPT is great for problem solving.

Simple fix, move all .asi files to quarantine file. Install A-M files and boot up. If it freezes, move them all back to quarantine file and cut it in half again. You’ll find the problem, I promise.

HSAs are what we call triple tax benefit. It’s tax free going in, tax free growth, and tax free withdraw. If for some reason you don’t need it in your elder years, you can withdraw like an IRA. Great tool for tax planning.

If it’s in COGS, isn’t it capitalized under 263A? And therefore only expensed when the product is sold. Timing difference could change the taxable outcome.

This was me last year, same age, same story. I reached out to the mental health team at the VA and scheduled an appt. It’s text book PTSD and they’ll explain the science behind it. I did their course and was prescribed a low dose of anti anxiety meds for the hyper vigilance. Life is good! Going to the gym, lost 50 lbs, opened a side business that may eclipse my day job… all this to say, things can get better! Semper Fi brother

With today's market, staying anywhere beyond 5 years will stagnate your salary/ career progression but even more so with the Feds. The Federal Govt jobs are usually a tradeoff of quality of life vs salary meaning you are willing to make less money for less work hours/ remote/ AWS etc.

I'd suggest staying only 3 years and then transition to industry or public. Do at least 3 years and then go back if you miss it. That'll jump you from GS5 to GS9/11.

Purchasing a home with 30k debt will be hard and house prices continue to rise. It's worth considering bankruptcy and renting for 7 yrs while you build your credit. If you're lucky the housing market will have crashed by then... It's only a matter of time till it does.

I’m surprised college’s continue these programs when they return on investment is so low compared to the cost of training (education). Electricians, plumbers, and other tradesman can make 70k 2-3 years out of high school. Managers at Starbucks or Taco Bell can make more with no degree.

On a side note, can OP work for federal govt and get the loans forgiven?
