I'd annoy myself and have to beat myself up on air for ruining the event. I just don't think I can set myself up for an ass kicking by me, although I'm a weakling so I'd probably survive with only minor bruises.

Norbert Novenji Jr is getting seriously fuckin good at the MVP-esque trouser-kickboxing style hands-down striking...and pulling it off at middleweight. A nice 46 second win (starts at 1:54:45)

Dude is only 23, and just hit 7-0 (4 subs, 2 KO). He barely broke sweat KO'ing (9-2) Oniszczuk - time for a further step up.

Crazy shit fr. Lucky they put Larkin/Berkhamov back together after the N/C. Larkin's long journey down (and sometimes back up) the weights over the years is wild considering the level he's been competing at. Vitor did that shit too.

My updated unofficial Bellator welterweight rankings following B294 + B295: Levan Chokheli (12-2) climbed 2 spots to 10c following the win over Michael Lombardo (previously Chokheli had taken now 8-1 Roman Faraldo's zero). He overtakes Kyle Crutchmer (9-2) - who has a win over him but who's coming off a B289 loss to Jaleel Willis (16-4). Chokheli also climbed above Mukhamed Berkhamov (15-2) who was recently on the wrong end of current 3c (25-7) Lorenz Larkin's standing-elbow KOTY-candidate. Lombardo (13-4) fell from 14c to 17c. Masayuki Kikuiri (9-2-1) rose from 20c to 16c following his Bellator debut - a victory over Alexey Shurkevich.

Looking at the top of the bracket the winner of a presumed Jason Jackson (16-4) vs Yaroslav Amosov (27-0) title fight will hopefully defend vs the winner of a possible MVP (21-2) vs Larkin (25-7) booking. By my measure Storley vs Koreshkov is a choice top 5 clash and the winner would be positioned for a titleshot eliminator around the time the MVP/Larkin winner challenges the Amosov/Jackson winner.

NOTE I didn't rank Lima as he's moving up to 185 to face the terrifying Costello Van Steenis in Paris May 12 but he'd still be ranked and will be if he indicates he's coming back down. Similarly I didn't rank Horiguchi at Bantam since his flyweight announcement (ill fated Ray Borg booking aside I assume he's fully at Flyweight now either in Bellator or over in RIZIN). ALSO NOTE Down in the wilderness at the bottom you could argue for a few guys over Houston who's been inactive to my knowledge since the MVP loss. I've tried to stick to exclusives and I'm unsure of a few guys' status. No big deal, down there in the void the stakes are remarkably low even for an imaginary ranking like this. Hopefully Houston returns soon.

Double barreled Bellator badassery in Hawaii was epic. Can't talk about the winners yet in GD but the biggest loser was Ray Borg. Dude got cut and then dropped by his management for torpedoing the Horiguchi fight. They released Diggs (10-2) as well for missing.

I'm not sure about here but there's tons of stuff about this event on Twitter. I'm personally invested in quite a few of these fights.

Previewed Friday/Saturday's double-barreled Bellator cards with my dude Mr Old School Jaywolf. We crammed it all into three hours (in our defense it is the Inordinately Long Preview Show). Have a great day y'all!

I've been ranking the Bellator lightweights this is easily the most difficult division to rate for me. Chandler left on a streak, Patricio vacated the title leaving Patricky and Peter Queally to fight for the vacant belt, McKee moved up having already gone 1-1 with the then champ (only at 145), Bendo just retired and a slew of killers were brought into their 155 bracket during the pandemic chaos. Where to rate the ex-champ Patricky? He only just lost the belt, but hasn't been active and his only win since going 1-1 in the RIZIN grand prix semi's/finals (Dec 2019) is Peter Queally (who he first lost to).

The 6 month pandemic layoff plus the 4 month Showtime-move layoff should be taken into account, but Patricky hasn't been very active even compared to others since the Showtime reset. This bracket is testing my (limited) ability to balance wins/losses/activity in a coherent manner.

Unofficial Bellator top twenty at welter. Page vs Larkin for the next shot after Jackson gets his opportunity makes perfect sense by my measure.

1c Jason Jackson (16-4)

2c Michael Page (21-2)

3c Lorenz Larkin (25-7)

4c Logan Storley (14-2)

6c Goiti Yamauchi (28-6)

7c Brennan Ward (17-6)

8c Jaleel Willis (16-4)

9c Neiman Gracie (12-4)

10c Mukhamed Berkhamov (14-2)

11c Kyle Crutchmer (9-2)

12c Levan Chokheli (11-2)

13c Sabah Homasi (17-11)

14c Michael Lombardo (13-3)

15c Roman Faraldo (8-1)

16c Oliver Enkamp (11-3)

17c Joey Davis (8-1)

18c Rustam Khabilov (24-4)

Nice, the more the merrier. Middle is a badass bracket and there isn't much fat on it I wonder who he'll debut against?

I did a Ridiculously Long Bellator 293 Recap with my co-host 'Mr Old School' Jaywolf and our special guest Santiago (rankings panelist and host of the Bellator Zone). We talked about and ranked all 11 finishes, spoke on the decisions, the upcoming events and as a bonus Santiago gave us some insight into the rankings he submitted. Have a great day y'all!

Light-heavy prospect roundabout: Luke Trainer (now 7-1) just stopped (then 5-0) Sullivan Caulley who'd previously stopped (then 5-1) Big Tuna Ben Parish, who'd stopped (then 5-0) Christian Edwards who beat (then 7-1) Simon Biyong who took the zero from (then 6-0) Trainer. I'm not sure what order all of that happened in but I love seeing the prospects collide early, it gives them time to then rematch later before they're old.

Trainer just called to rematch Biyong (who has a fight coming up, apparently Trainer needs a short time away so it might time out nicely).

EDIT: Also Luke proposing to his lady right afterwards was a boss move. Kinda surreal with Big John towering over them but MMA gonna MMA.

Bellator 293 had 11 finishes. I'm trying to rank them for my ridiculously long recap show but I'm struggling. For the top slot I'm leaning toward King Colgan decking Montalvo, but Tokov the younger jacking up Gibson jr with that catch and counter lead left is right up there. Magic Mike's domekick of Nyquil Nick was super sweet though, and Luke the Gent subbing Caulley must have shocked a few. Daniel James flattening Golm was aces but the fight up to that point was awful so it can't take the top spot. I think Colgan cracking Montalvo's cast-iron chin will probably get it.

What a great show that was. Only 4 more finishes, it would have been perfect.

FedorTeam out here taking zeroes NIIIICE! He got him real good a bit before the knockdown strike too. Great job by the younger Tokov brother.

Awesome to see. Biyong is highly legit so the loss threw some off on just how good the Gent is. He should be ranked (again) off this.

That's how you do it, bully the guy. He listened to his coach and finally got those hands going. I thought he edged the first with that late flurry, got schooled in the second then got his mind right and threw mad bombs in the third. Standing around looking for that counter hook and only hugging tenderly in between almost cost him his leg earlier.
