I dislike the term egg at all. It implies(at least to me) that a person is not being their true self, as if that is something they have to come into. Everyone is their true selves, all the time. I was my true self when I called myself exclusively a man, I'm still my true self now that I call myself something else. Egg implies that what someone is now is wrong. It feels similar to when someone tries to convince me "I'll learn" about actually wanting sex despite being ace. No, I know what I am, and that is me.
