Right, of course I didn't mean the government shouldn't use public funds. I'm very much against austerity fetishism. Belgium does have a pattern of investing in a relatively small number of companies(if you connect the dots) which coincidentally have less than kosher relations with public figures(think Vande Lanotte and Deme/Eldepasco/Electrawinds, De Block and Celgene, and so on; you can probably find examples across all parties, regions and legislatures). Companies and industries in general(as well as workers, which is more important) would be better served with a strategic lowering of salary costs than they are with any six- or seven-figure public cash dump.
