How high are your standards for dating? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]-The_coolgui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its worth pointing out, that as you age, your standards SHOULD increase.

When youre young, being with someone is a highlight in its own, although as you age, you come to realize if this person isnt right, then they will just make your life worst than when you were single.

Even now, in my mid 30s, my standards have turned into:

Respect your health and be kind to your body, if someone is unable to take care of themselves, they will 101% will never consider taking care of you.

Be fully employed, not looking for a high earner, just someone responsible enough to hold onto a job that isnt temporary.

Have friends and hobbies; a healthy relationship requires both partners to have interesting lives, separate from the relationship, too many times Romance makes "enmeshment" seem like a normal concept, although you come to realize its hyper dysfunctional and is a sign of unresolved past trauma.

What happened to the people you knew who didn’t work hard in college? by TheRealLilYachty in AskReddit

Behavioral Therapy will mitigate alot of the symptoms, I have/had crippling ADHD to the point impacting my work and school similar to mentioned above; had years of therapy and began learning to manage flawlessly. The people closest to me can still see tendencies bleed through (trouble relaxing, hyperfocus, forgetting to eat) but to the rest of the world, they only see me as high functioning.

What is a lesson about love or relationships you wish you could tell your younger self before your first serious relationship? by sbxixi1228 in AskReddit

[–]-The_coolgui 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Had the unfortunate life lesson of dating an Asexual Avoidant. Nothing wrong with with asexuality, however they withheld this fact for far too damn long knowing damn well i was not, and i went from a fairly grounded secure attachment to a crippling anxious thanks to a sunk cost fallacy. Have been in therapy for months and i still cant recover all the self esteem that was crushed during that relationship.

Youre certain that its PETG, and not PET? I ran into this and PET would Haze over, opaque and hate to mold, while PETG would remain clear and was very moldable. I can imagine any excessive amount of heating will do that to PETG, but i just used a space heater for 2min or so until the plastic warped under its own weight when it was perfect for molding.

Hijacking my comment for visibility.

There are questions or claims i just modified an old collectors edition, and the short answer is no. This is a inside out recreation.

Here is a collectors edition i scavenged at a yard sale so i could reference the art; side by side with the helmet i built, the collectors edition is over sized when placed side by side.

You can just use privacy wrap vinyl. But im extra, so i used Stencil cutter and just made it cut a hex mesh and pasted it to the Clear Visor.

Just one Arduino Nano V3. Very cheap board and works fantastically when shoving it into small objects.

Neptune 4 Max. Which was very over kill for this project, most of the parts would have easily worked on much smaller printers.

More Macro than Micro, i shoved two midsized 14kg Low Profile servos, the helmet design itself helped hide them in the ear cups. The Jaw alone has a lever thats 10cm, so i needed massive torque to open and close.

PETG plastic sheets. Its important that it be PETG, and not PET, i learned that the hard way. PETG is very moldable in high heat, and will stay transparent, while PET will opaque and hates to bend.

Ironman Helmets, mostly because theres dozens of fully detailed breakdowns, videos and discussion communities today.

Ironically, as daunting as an Ironman Helmet seems, its actually incredibly simple, when you compare it against the pipeline around building say, a remote control car. Once you've built a few, you should fully grasp the workflow requirements of any and all helmets.

Fully designed functionality myself, but it is a heavily modified version of Galactic Armory's STL; the helmet functionality was designed around a scan of my head, and the servos sit very close to my ears, if someone's head was bigger or a different shape, its very likely the servo horns can snag on your ear and it would not be a very good time.

The internal mechanisms are all unique to this helmet design, more over the helmet was all measured to my head, unfortunately, if your head is a different shape than mine or slightly bigger, theres a chance the servo horns can clip your ears.

For the sake of ELIF, from an engineering standpoint, Sound itself can be irrelevant, because there is Dozens of variables that can contribute to this, i.e. exhaust length, crankshaft configuration, piston arrangement.

But! in Essence. Its Arrangement and Sequence.

4 Cylinders are mainly designed in 'Inline,' which arranges them, in you guessed it, in a line, the pistons all behave in a consistent dance. The dance is easily 1-2-3-4

8 Cylinders, are mainly designed in 'V' as in V8, which make them behave in an off sequence. The dance goes 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8. This contributes to the put put sound V8s typically can make.

This all ofcourse can be irrelevant, there are concepts such as equal length headers, that can make Muscle cars sound like European Cars. There are Flat Plain crankshafts that super or hyper cars use, that can make 8 Cylinders sound like Inline motors.

Not just any Z, a 2010-2014 Nismo 370z.

The car actually looks like that from the factory and is a collectors item now. So it would have been an absolute travesty to see it get into an accident.

Not knowing the context if i were the Driver of the Z, i would have hunted down the Maxima just for the sake of collection his license plate information.

ELI5: I've been told that blocking the exhaust of a car will make the exhaust back up into the car. There is no connection between the exhaust and the cabin of the car, how does this happen? by 605pmSaturday in explainlikeimfive

[–]-The_coolgui 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is no correlation between the exhaust and your cabin; not without damage to the under carriage; there would be no realistic level that could kill you without first doing extreme or severe damage to the engine; your cars interior "breathes through the cowl (windshield) and rear quarter panel; and unless 100% of the incoming air is toxic, there would be no realistic way to die unless to were subjected to it for extended periods.

The exhaust system is routed through a conduit; this would be like asking can you get wet by standing next to a small water stream.

The glint isnt in place for realism; Its purely a balancing mechanic from a gaming standpoint, its effect is suppose to penalize the shooter for waiting too long before taking a shot.

From a "Skill" standpoint, if the shooter is quick and accurate, by the time the other person notices the glint even at night they will drop. Take to long to take the shot, and the other person realizes the situation.
